The Homhoo tires are polyurethane while the Ticonn's are polyvinyl. Skateboard wheels are usually polyurethane so I expect them to be more durable. I just replaced a broken spinner luggage wheel and used a urethane wheel instead of ordering a replacement from the manufacturer. It is a huge upgrade.
I believe that they would hold 400 pounds but they wouldn't roll. These casters, like every other set of casters I've purchased, advertise the absolute maximum weight they could hold without the axle giving. They don't advertise the "usable" weight. I would go with 3" casters for a lathe.
For others wondering, I personally wouldn't put more than about 200 pounds on these at the max.
Also I purchased these a little over 2 years ago for $18.99, so $34.99 is definitely not the regular price. Agreed that the hardware is garbage.

Harbor Freight has some great casters. I pick them up when they have their 20% off coupon. All my shop benches, carts, etc are all on wheels. Even my wood cart. Makes cleaning a breeze.
These look neat. I have some stacking plastic shelves that I would like to add casters to, as when I try to move them for vacuuming the top shelves get pulled off the bottom ones.
All together, the shelves stacked are about 27 inches high. Does anyone know if these would be good for adding casters to those shelves? Ideally, I would like to do as little drilling as possible. Thanks.
I just built some tool carts and got some casters that have a second lever to release the locks instead of pulling up with your toes. They are a total game changer, and I won't use the old style like these going forward. With that said, if it's something you don't use very often this is a good price for some castors.

Hah... Amazon says I ordered these in 2019. I guess I did, but it only weighs 150 pounds, so it doesn't prove anything.
