Do we believe the 150 pound capacity? I'd like to put my 400 pound lathe on wheels, but having one break could be expensive.
I'd get 8 and upgrade the hardware

You're joking, but I could. Better than having a $3,000 lathe tumble.

Hah... Amazon says I ordered these in 2019. I guess I did, but it only weighs 150 pounds, so it doesn't prove anything.
I believe that they would hold 400 pounds but they wouldn't roll. These casters, like every other set of casters I've purchased, advertise the absolute maximum weight they could hold without the axle giving. They don't advertise the "usable" weight. I would go with 3" casters for a lathe.

For others wondering, I personally wouldn't put more than about 200 pounds on these at the max.

Also I purchased these a little over 2 years ago for $18.99, so $34.99 is definitely not the regular price. Agreed that the hardware is garbage.

150lb per caster. They are strong, I would replace the screws with something stronger. I would not push 50% of the max workload without doing so.

I just built some tool carts and got some casters that have a second lever to release the locks instead of pulling up with your toes. They are a total game changer, and I won't use the old style like these going forward. With that said, if it's something you don't use very often this is a good price for some castors.

These are two inch wheels. Even if you lost one completely the cart isnt going to pitch very much. But for important gear why not just spend the extra 12 bucks and get a $25 set of 4" casters that can handle 1200lbs? I know this is slickdeals and all but theres a time for spending just a little bit more.

I just got a Traeger "somethin" 620 from Costco. Has anyone replaced the wheels on that with these wheels? I'd like a bit more beef in the wheels so I can take my smoker off roading

I put 10 inch pneumatics from harbor freight on mine and they are awesome! Goes right through the yard easy.

Looks good. Cheap and will fit under 4x4 leg work table without adding more wood. Been wanting to do it for years, but even harbor freight prices are daunting.
