I do IT consultant services which includes security camera installs for businesses and homes. I love using my Ryobi drills. Way better than the harbor freight drill I had before.
But it's so irritating that Rigid and Ryobi are made by the same company but the batteries are incompatible. In my perfect world I could start off with Ryobi tools then upgrade to Rigid, then Milwaukie using the same batteries. Or have Ryobi for stuff I don't use a lot and milwaukee for stuff that's my day-to-day bread and butter but use the same batteries for everything.
I'm not sure what the "down side" of a system like this would be for TTi (the company that makes Ryobi/Rigid/Milwaukee). Yeah they might loose a few $$ with folks using cheaper ryobi batteries in Milwaukee tools but right now if I'm upgrading from ryobi it's just as easy to switch to Makita or Dewalt.
