This thing has a small battery by default, but if you do the custom build, you can option up to a 52.5Wh battery.

Seems like a decent deal. Just know that you'll be waiting awhile. I ordered a laptop August 4th, and it hasn't even processed yet, even though I paid for it already. My CC was charged, and I paid that off. No signs of progress.

Has anyone done a teardown of this / other non USB4 Ryzen 6000 series ThinkPads to see if the underlying USB controller hardware might support USB4 after being updated or hacked?

Yes T14 keyboard is what you want, the X13 is smaller.

I have a T14 Gen2 since February and ordered an X13 recently for 3 weeks and sent it back.
Just ordered Gen3 T14 with upgraded battery

Yep sent it back, I prefer the bigger keyboard layout on the T14 more comfortable for me.
I ordered a T14 with 6650U / 16gb / 2.2k IPS display / 52 battery for great price , use REP ID helped tremendously!
