The notes say if you have a Sirius radio Stern is standard, but not if you have an XM or SiriusXM radio.

I think my car is XM, but I can't stand Stern anyway.

I have had a SXM subscription in my vehicle for 8 years, never an issue receiving annual retention offers of around $5 per month, for 12 months, which included Howard Stern. My plan expires in mid-September, cancelled when the retention agent was unwilling/unable to do better than the OP's plan. Will allow the current plan to lapse, see if SXM will sweeten the pot.

This has streaming. What it lacks from the Platinum Plan is Howard Stern, Personalized Pandora stations, Stitcher premium podcasts, and some video content.

This offer doesn't include live NFL, NBA or MLB games. For someone that is interested in fantasy football, this could be a dealbreaker

For the past 5 years probably, I have had 12 months for $60 but last year it changed and didn't include NFL. I called and told them that was basically all I listened too but wasnt willing to pay more than that. They switched me to the $5 (plus taxes) for 12 months which included all the channels and streaming. That ended last month and I noticed they charged me regular price. I did the chat online and told them i wanted to cancel, that I didnt use it enough to justify the price and they immediately offered me the $5 per month again for 12 months and it still includes all the channels including Stern, NFL and streaming.
I called yesterday to cancel after being charged $30
when my 6 month free trial ended. Offered this deal w/out Howard and live sports but said I'd think about it. Called back today and will now be paying $6 and some change with the same "platinum" channel.

An absolutely horrific service for music. Not the selection, the quality (compression). Somehow was much better 10 years ago than now.
Depends on the channel. Some are good, other less popular ones they compress the snot out of.

I guess that is the YMMV part. But it's strange. I'm a returning customer, although it has most likely been more than a year since I had service.
yeah active customers can't switch to it. Hope it's around in Nov.

I still have a ton of GCs from back in the day when they included with radios too

On the car radio yea, but just set the app to stream and maximum quality and it's great.

You can just chat with the customer service people and tell them you want to cancel. They always drop it down to 6 or less. Recently renewed for $6 a month for a year

You must have super human hearing or something. I've had xm since it first came out and have never had an issue with quality of sound

Does anyone else get annoyed by the censored music? Thought the benefit of getting satellite radio was to not have to listen to the BS.

Chat in and mention the $5 platinum plan per month. That's what I did and they gave it to me for a year @ $5 per month

The last time I called to cancel their offer was $8-9 per month. I declined. I only use it for the NFL. I wonder if the NFL's new streaming service (NFL+) raised Sirius's NFL price?

On a side note, I tried NFL+ and it was a disaster. Only was able to stream a couple out of market preseason games using a web browser, but not all of them. The app would not let me stream anything live. Their customer service was a joke. Boiler plate responses, ignored replies, and closed tickets without doing anything.

Edit: By "boiler plate responses" I mean the exact same 'we're sorry, have you tried this basic troubleshooting' email 3 times followed by closing the ticket. Pretty infuriating being completely ignored.

Agreed. My wife has it in her car but I stream through my phone to apple car play in my car and the quality is much better (and I get all the extra streaming channels using the app in my car). We're paying $5 month plus fees total to have it in both cars. Hard to pass up.

I just signed up for the first time. How many streams do you get at the same time? It's only set up in one car, but can I stream while the wife listens in the car? Can I have Alexa streaming to different devices?
