The notes say if you have a Sirius radio Stern is standard, but not if you have an XM or SiriusXM radio.


I think my car is XM, but I can't stand Stern anyway.

I have had a SXM subscription in my vehicle for 8 years, never an issue receiving annual retention offers of around $5 per month, for 12 months, which included Howard Stern. My plan expires in mid-September, cancelled when the retention agent was unwilling/unable to do better than the OP's plan. Will allow the current plan to lapse, see if SXM will sweeten the pot.

This has streaming. What it lacks from the Platinum Plan is Howard Stern, Personalized Pandora stations, Stitcher premium podcasts, and some video content.

IDK if I'd even consider it worth $5/month, for me. They call it commercial-free radio, but instead of getting ads for lawyers and nasal flushing devices, you get announcements of what they're playing on every other channel.....which is, essentially, a self-promoting commercial. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

And don't even get me started on their DJ's. Like Nina Blackwood, one of the original MTV "VJ's". Couldn't stand her 40 years ago. And she hasn't improved a bit, in that amount of time!!

IMHO, Sirius/XM needs to fire the overpriced DJ's, and go back to playing TRUE commercial-free radio. Give me a 5 second station identification, every half hour. Other than that, STFU, and play music!! Mad

I just renewed a few months ago for $70 including taxes for an entire year. For 2021, I paid $60 including taxes. So these are really regular prices and not specials. Just like all other services, negotiate. They need you more than you need them.

So if I drop SXM and just wait for a deal then I don't have to call them every year? I can never seem to get a deal as good as the ones posted here. I always just figured they made it hard for ppl that canceled to sign up for these deals

I don't have platinum or Howard 100 but I can still listen to Howard and watch all the Howard video content via the app on either mobile, desktop, CarPlay etc

That's the channel that I listen to the most, I just wish that they had more variety. You'd think that with 25-30 years of music to choose from they would play more then the same 100 songs over and over.

I had the $4.99 a month promo plan for 12 months. Noticed last week it expired and jumped to like $24. Logged into my account and "chatted" with agent. Said I wanted to cancel my account. I was asked why. I said price went up. Within about 15 seconds they offered me another 12 months (with no commitment/cancel anytime) for $4.99 which I accepted.

Wish I could figure out what plan I had when I bought my new RAM. Has the uconnect 12 with the new xm head unit that does in channel streaming over the 4g network (can skip songs and whatnot). Expired when my trial ended and they keep sending me all kinds of retention crap but none of it seems to line up with what came with the car (Lithium Stripped being an example). Want that and sports, don't care about Stern anymore.

So I was debating activating this on my wife's car but for $5 a month and not having to go thru the hassle of contacting SiriusXM sign me up.

As others have stated, nobody should pay the advertised prices for SiriusXM but it's slightly annoying to have to haggle with them every year when your current deal expires.
