The notes say if you have a Sirius radio Stern is standard, but not if you have an XM or SiriusXM radio.

I think my car is XM, but I can't stand Stern anyway.

I have had a SXM subscription in my vehicle for 8 years, never an issue receiving annual retention offers of around $5 per month, for 12 months, which included Howard Stern. My plan expires in mid-September, cancelled when the retention agent was unwilling/unable to do better than the OP's plan. Will allow the current plan to lapse, see if SXM will sweeten the pot.

This has streaming. What it lacks from the Platinum Plan is Howard Stern, Personalized Pandora stations, Stitcher premium podcasts, and some video content.

I canceled this week. They tried to keep me with $5/month or $8.99/month for the platinum plan. I didn't bite. Told them their over the air stations were better 20 years ago when they were a start-up.

Didn't see this thread until today. Just did the dance yesterday and got $6/mo. plus taxes and fees for 6 months with same type plan as this. Just did chat and got this deal. $6.06/mo. for 2 years with taxes and fees included.
Thank you whomever posted first today for the visibility. Thumbs up for not having to call again for 2 years!

Just yesterday I dug up an old Sirius Stiletto 2 (sl2) that I used years ago. Turned it on and it surprisingly receives channels 1 - 184. I haven't had a sub on that since forever. I guess for technical reasons it won't go over channel 184 but I have no idea why it's activated with service.

It will probably work until they send out a deactivation code..... and that may depend on how long the stiletto has been without a signal. Then again, maybe sirius sends out deactivation codes for all non subscribed units on a short time-frame basis.

Will this work on portable Sirius tuners? Or just for cars?

Funny how people speaking the truth about Sirius are getting thumbs down.

I like to listen to news, not entertainment. I do miss not getting to hear Dr. Maddow's thoughts as much.

My subscription expires tomorrow so I just "chatted" with XM. I always ask for a mailed invoice as I don't want them to have a CC on file. They charge $2 for a mailed invoice...

While they were able to offer the $4.99/month+fees for 12 months with a CC on file, they were only willing to do 6 months at the $4.99/mo rate for an invoiced renewal.

For reference, here's the final numbers cut/pasted from my chat 10min ago:

Let's go over the details. The 6 month SiriusXM Music & Entertainment plan you chose starts today and comes to $37.88 for the initial billing period, which includes fees and taxes.

Your service will automatically renew on March 22, 2023. Your renewal will bill every 6 months at then current rates for an estimated total charge of $133.04, which includes fees and taxes. You may cancel at any time by calling us at 866-635-2349.

Your first invoice will be sent today and is due upon receipt. You will receive an invoice for future charges that includes a $2.00 Invoice Administration Fee, added to each bill.

Your Customer Agreement including the refund policy can be found on our website at: siriusxm.com or you can request it at any time by phone. If there is an email address on your account, a confirmation of this transaction will be sent to that email address within 5 days.

Do you accept these terms?

And may I have your permission to send you an invoice today for $37.88 and for future charges?

I am a new customer, and I have an aftermarket Sony head unit with siriusxm windshield antenna installed in my truck. I tried my radio ID, but it said I am not eligible. I need the MLB games (Premium plan) in order to justify paying anything, so that was fine. I started the 3 month free trial for $2 instead, and will try to see if I can get the retention deal after that.

My question is this: When you guys get these deals for $5/month, do they still charge that $4.92 music royalty fee, too?

Yah, for whatever reason I don't see thumbs up or down on my PC, so I don't care how my comments get rated.

I was one of Sirius' early subscribers. I was around #100,000. I remember people used to join and then post that they were the "nth" subscriber. I joined I believe in 2003, they launched in 2002. They were so desperate for new subscribers that they gave out a car kit, a home kit, and a plug-n-play radio for free. The content was so much better then. Better music, no commercials, no censored channels. I don't even think there were DJs on most music channels at first. There was also no tax and no royalty fee. There was only one plan and it was like $6/month.

I joined in July of 07 and got the lifetime with streaming. Then you could only transfer it 5 times but they got sued and not I can transfer it unlimited for $35 each transfer. Since the lifetime included sports and they changed packages, they had to move me to the newer package with sports. Best money I spent! If I can't get the promo for my truck, cancel and I can still stream. Worth the $6.50 a month. Called today since my promo ends next month and got it extended for 24 months.

When T-Mobile Tuesday offers up the mlb season ticket in late March each year, you can buy/trade for a code for $5 on here. That gives you radio (both teams) and video of all games.

Why would you mess with this?

On chat, once I got passed the bot, I sent the URL to the CSR & they immediately hooked me up with this deal. $5/mo + fees is pretty normal but to not have to go through this for two years instead of one is what hooked me in. Thanks for posting this deal!
