9.0 was discontinued and the 8.0 is its replacement.

I'll mention this because this uses the same motor head and others may be planning on using this as a trimmer, too. Had terrible luck with using this as a string trimmer starting about a year ago. Unit cuts off constantly, waited 8 weeks for warranty replacement (was told it would take 2) and within 5 minutes the brand new replacement unit is doing the exact same thing. Light weekly maintenance yard grass, nothing heavy. Tried different string, different string heads, multiple different 8.0 and 12.0 battery packs -- nothing. Now Milwaukee gone silent on getting back to me. I feel like Happy Gillmore on the edge of restraining my rage when trimming with this thing.

That aside -- which is pretty shitty -- and assuming this item works as it should, this is actually a really good deal here.

This is a great deal. I got the blower and trimmer already from another deal with the 8 Ah battery. This has the 9. I was looking only for the saw attachment. I will sell everything but the saw attachment and should make out ahead. Thanks.

Actually I just noticed that the picture shows a 8 Ah battery, but the website shows 9. Weird.

Review's talk of some kind of issue with battery terminals melting (also include pics of damage)....and I thought the smart batteries were supposed to have some kind of protection built in to prevent damage to the tools.

Interesting. The bundle code 2825-21PSB shows two different included batteries across various sites. Some at HD9.0 and some are HO XC8.0

It is my understanding that Milwaukee is/has phased out the 9.0 batteries due to a design flaw with them.

If that is the case then some kits might be "New Old Stock".

Take that with a grain of salt, I don't remember where I got that information from.

You are not the only one. Mine does that too on 8 & 12 aH batteries. For whatever reason the 5 aH from other tools get me more runtime. Have gone back to using my ego, one 2.5 aH runs just as long as 5 Milwaukee batteries. I also believe that I received a dud.

Knock on wood but the head unit has been flawless for me this season running the 8aH battery. Nice deal on this combo.

I wish they offered this same deal with the edger attachment as that's the one I really need, but this is a great deal so I'm in!

Can you still hack these deals? Return the trimmer and batteries and keep the blower?

Never mind…not HD

Anyone used this to prune palm fronds, particularly dead fronds? They can be tougher to cut and wondering if this works well.
