This seems like a good price for an immersion blender (IB). An IB is great because it can work in your pan and you don't have to transfer to a blender or food processor and then clean the damn thing. Cleaning the IB bottom is super easy, usually just rinse it a few seconds under the faucet. This assumes that the bottom half separates easily from the top motor, which is probably the case.
So, opinions... 300 watts seems like a lot for a small appliance. Is it true? Dunno, but I suspect not. One horsepower is 720 watts, and I doubt this hand stick is nearly a half horsepower. And twelve speeds?! My IB has two speeds and that is fine. Do we need to go back to the blender with five thousand speeds, each one identical to the others? Get real. Can they make a case for even three speeds? Buehler?!
This may be a good deal. The price is fine. But I question the claims. Feel free to smash me if you have facts that disprove my claims. I give my opinion freely, but facts rule, and I accept that.
