Try looking on reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDec...ance&t=all

And here https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDec.../?sort=top

I also saw some youtuber did a comparison of multiple current microsd brands and lexar came out last.
Found the video: https://youtu.be/eNX4SFMftEY

Not sure if this one is a new one that isn't subject to what people are talking about.

Don't get me wrong, it will work fine but it's slower vs the SanDisk or Samsung evo select cards. Game loads are fast because they are reads. Looks like this card is slower on writes. The issue with overheating leading to throttling and it being thicker is a bit of a concern.

I need one but I'm on the fence.

Tried this Lexar 1TB in my steam deck today playing Doom 2016 and it didn't go so well. Mission took much longer to load, kept locking up at checkpoints, felt a few FPS drops, eventually the game just crashed to homescreen. Swapped my TEAMGROUP GO 512GB back in and played through the same mission with really no issues (just one minor lockup for few seconds) and mission load times were quicker too. I guess I had to see it for myself at this price point, going to be returning this card, unfortunately.

Would be nice for the steam deck but lots of bad reviews of lexar cards's performance on steamdeck.

Perhaps this is a new one and it's better? Can someone chime in?

Would love to get this 1tb.

Good price but I only trust Samsung for endurance.

Yup, it is, hence I'm on the fence.
Lmk

I believe the performance is on par with other cards but it overheats so it throttles, leading to intermittent drops in write speed.

Im using a Samsung evo 256gb microsd and it's getting 30MB/s so I'm OK, but would love to upgrade to 1tb if this works out.
Just upgrade, don't think twice.

You're selection should be based on what purpose you have for using it in a Steam Deck. If it's just for emulation it will work fine. If your planning on installing Windows on it or using it to expand your existing Steam game storage you need to go with a card that can handle more iops. Like a Sandisk Extreme U3 A2 which has better performance than the Lexar. I have two decks in the house and have each of these cards.
Don't you mean "you're existing steam game storage"

I tried to buy one of these from Amazon for the Steam Deck three times. All three times Amazon sent me a fake card from their inventory. Was a giant hassle to get refunds. I will never buy an sd card off Amazon again. Their tech inventory seems to be a mixture of scam items and damaged items nowadays

Person was probably messing with you since your first sentence started with "you're selection...", third started with "if your planning…". I guess they figured if you were gonna go one way, might as well go all the way

Oops. Made the same mistake 😕. Oh well. I thought this site was for getting good deals on products. I tried to help those who were "on the fence". Maybe SD will change the name to Deals and grammar corrections.

@zerosvn Curious Where did you read the bad reviews? Quickly glanced at Amazon reviews and reddit and didn't see anything alarming, so I'm curious. FYI - I just ordered this for my steam deck.
ive had several lexars including a 512 micro and a fullsize sdxc, none came close to the performance they claim.

How is it even possible to get three straight scam cards buying from Amazon directly? I can't even imagine the odds.
