Just for everyone's awareness, this has been only $99 for months. So this IS less expensive, but it's only really $9 off.

I dont think you'll need this for capturing pc gaming. You can use OBS and capture your screen. This is more for gaming console like ps5, xbox and Nintendo switch.

What is the best version of something like this? Quality vs price. Maybe the Elgato HD60?

Not withstanding my issue with the switch (I'll need to find another HDMI to test that) I found it to work very well. I used it with OBS and generally just use it to play with my switch docked without needing to plug it into my monitor and I want to stream on twitch but haven't bothered trying that yet.

Check your cables. Ensure they can handle the transfer rate required for higher definition.

Tried a cable I used with my Shield to my 4k set and no dice.

this is probably the best one at this price range, it'll beat out the el gato hd60, hd60s, hd60s+ and even the new HD60X in price for what you can do with it. 4k 60S+ is a better product but also costs bout 400$.

EVGA has cheaper products like the non pro and lite, but I would bypass those since they are more limited in what they can do(can't bypass 4k hdr while capturing in the non pro).

I have the elgato HDxx forgo the extact model but it is internal and does 1080p 60fps.

I had this issue as well, you have to do the hardware update for it to fix it. Unfortunately the one I got was bunk and wouldn't allow it to update (kept saying to use a usb a to c cord even when I was). Ordered another one off of Amazon, same 720p issue, but was able to at least run the hardware update. Works fine now.

Pretty sure this does not capture/record over 60FPS, just pass through 1440p 144hz
I have one and it does capture and record 1440p at 60hz.

Does this allow me to stream without putting additional load on my main pc's graphics card and run obs on a secondary one? I never understood capture cards

Do they have one the capture 4k at 60 frams or more
This captures 4K @ 60 and it also allows you to play in 4K and have it output in another resolution like 1080p

Is there an option to record only one of the screen on a multiple screen setup?
