I have two RSL Speedwoofer 10s that I don't like. Too boomy in my room and frankly underwhelmed with them. Plus one died. Thought about getting SVS back then but cheaped out. Thinking of upgrading now and thinking of going sealed because I am more music focused.
What would you recommend? The new Micro 3000 or a SB-3000
Sucks about the sub dying. What did RSL say?
The Speedwoofer measures flat. If it sounds boomy, it isn't setup/placed properly.
How was it setup?
There's no risk though, and it may actually be a new unit being sold as an outlet item.
Yes sir. I get it. Here's my question...since I need two, if there was an issue with one of them, like damage they didn't see during their inspection, it's just DOA, etc, and I needed to return it, what are they going to replace it with if there are no more in the "outlet"? A new one?
And if these are new, why are they also selling them "new" for $100 more?

I'm guessing you're already aware, but you also get an additional 5% off if you're buying two. They are customer returns, so in my mind it's actually a good sign they aren't trying to pass off returns as factory new. I've never bought from the outlet, so hopefully someone else who has can chime in with thoughts on the condition of what they received.

Thanks. Yes I am aware. I'm probably over thinking it. After all, once they're open and I play something they're "used" at that point anyway. Lol. Used would be a risk with 1 yr warranty, but not so much with 5 yr.

It really depends on your preference and expectations.
As much as people love to debate those, there isn't a universal answer.
I recently got a chance to setup and listen to the micro and having compared the SB 3000 to several subs including ported.
For its size the Micro is pretty impressive. Will it do well in a medium to large environment, most likely no.
For me the SB 3000 is very impressive and kinda the sweet spot if you prefer a tight/accurate reproduction in sound without losing to much low extension.
If you need it to do both(music/movies) IMO it can satisfy both well and the built in DSP is a significant benefit for that.
My setup is 99% movie focused and running two SB3000 and I'm extremely satisfied to say the least.
There are a vast many other variables with this so my impression(or anyones) or some spec/measurement isn't really gonna tell anyone how it will sound/perform for them in there setup/environment unfortunately.
Based on your description if you have the room I suggest the SB3000 especially if it's not strictly for music.
The great thing is you get to try it for 45 days and if it does not work out you can return it at no cost to you.
You also get up to a year to upgrade if you find you grabbed the wrong one.

The purchases I've made were through the outlet, one being a blemish which they provide picture(s) of prior to purchase.
As a matter of fact I don't recall anyone buying "brand new" of the several owners I know.
There really isn't a benefit buying new, they receive the same warranty.
Of the several people I know that own SVS none have had failure, they usually upgraded, I did more than once 😜
Disappointed the 5% customer loyalty program is not being honored at present. Having purchased 5 SVS subs over the years dating back to the old tall cylinder subs of 2000, flagship 16 ultras, etc. was ready to pull the trigger on a SB4000 but no dice on the 5% loyalty discount any more due to some new point system approach. Initial disappointment, but plenty of strong competition to select from in this segment. Just odd that they are selecting this discount approach as it may lose future sales to prior loyal customers - lost a sale on this one.

You did read:
"Purchase 2 subwoofers from the outlet, save 5% with code "GoDual""?
I'm not sure they meant "over the years".

It's not the buy two deal I'm referring to. It's the 5% loyalty discount that was applied to all prior purchases. In other words, one didn't need to buy two subs to obtain 5% discount in prior sales events. Not a big deal, will just consider competition options more closely.
what's return policy on these? I bought a 3000 micro for bedroom to pair with KEF LSX. also bought a Rel T/zero today to pair with LSX speakers in my study. will compare them.
Is there a sale on the REL stuff?

You could've gotten ported and had more output and lower extension while still maintaining tight articulate bass for music. I have two monolith 16 in ported subs and it's the tightest sounding especially with double bass drum music. Not laggy or boomy just bad ass.
I'm getting the Monolith 16" delivered in about 10 minutes. Super excited about it. So the bass is tight in a ported sub? I need a set of surround speakers to go with it now. Any suggestions?
