This is not the same model as the Midea Duo you bought from Costco or this years Danby that Costco is currently selling for $580. This is last year's model that Costco also sold (I bought one for $400 on sale). I also bought the Midea Duo this year from Costco for $400 on sale, and the Toshiba rebranded version of the Midea Duo from Woot for $300.

This Danby is 12k/10k BTU, whereas this year's Midea Duo/Danby/Toshibas are 14k/12k. Still an excellent deal, but the 14k BTU Mideo Duo was $400 at Costco a couple of times this year, which was a phenomenal deal due to the forever return policy and easy local returns.

A lot of times these ACs are damaged in transit, so it is always nice to buy from a seller than offers easy returns.
Crazy good deal.

I have two portable AC units.
14k (12k SACC) Midea Duo I got from Costco 2 months ago..... LOVE IT
12k LG single-hose unit... 7K SACC. It SUCKS. Like massive negative pressure to room, noisy, etc etc.

Get a dual-hose whenever possible... and inverter. Dual hose is 40% more efficient. Inverter allows compressor to run at slower speeds....which is quieter and possibly more confortable.
This is a Midea DUO with the Danby brand slapped on it. It's a very good portable AC. Highly recommend it. I have 2 of the Midea DUO.

Yup. I learned the same. People in this thread talking about how great single hose units are just haven't seen the difference of a dual hose. That's okay, not a knock on those people, but don't come in here preaching that single hose is better when you haven't tried a dual hose.
Incorrect. Folks here do not honor single hoses; they just say that dual hose does not give any benefit, but costs much more. My neighbours have dual hose - no difference with my single-hose

Just received mine in the mail. Everything works great so far.
For those wondering, I have a Midea "U" shaped window unit and this Danby model connected to the app with no issues at all. Appears Midea can connect to Danby and vice versa. Very happy that is the case! They really should advertise the smart App controls on this thing. I was questioning if I could control this thing remote or set schedules and it looks like it is more than capable.

Where do you think the rooms get their air from?

Single hose units suck in air from the outside 100%. The hose that has the air coming in is not even close to "hot" and you have a "hot hose" on the single unit one as well.

Again. Don't knock it till you try it. Dual hose out performs single hose in every single test there is.

I'm not convinced dual hose is for everyone. I rarely need it in WA. However I did get an off brand dual hose from Home Depot that came in handy for those brief scorchers. We didn't have a bad wildfire season this year but it's not over, red flag warning and some smoke from the south. I was worried if the air intake would bring in smoke particles but that's not the case. Everything good inside and cool

Yes, it's just dependent on the space you're trying to cool, a small bedroom? A single hose will likely perform fine, trying to cool down an entire space like an apartment, a dual hose if you can't install a window A/C. Just serves different purposes. I've had a dual hose in the past and just purchased a single hose for a small upstairs bedroom that gets hotter than the rest, I'm typically in this room and instead of running the central A/C, I'm just going to run this and it'll likely be fine for my usage + save quite a bit by not running the central a/c.

I have a small cabin and it's shaded in the woods. Right now it's very helpful with wildfire smoke, I don't deserve to have it this good. The vertical window install is a little harder but it was easy enough to break down and store under the stairs. In fact I put it away a little too early with this current hot smoky mess. No sweat, had it back up and running in 20min. I swear the tubes take up more space then the AC itself. I wrapped the exhaust hose with a throw blanket to insulate it a little.

Mine arrived yesterday and just in time to test it this weekend and next week. Our upstairs gets hotter than hades and it's under 500sqft. Should make for a good test run.

So far it's ok just trying to figure out the settings. No clue why the App has more features than the remote. One thing that I can't figure out is the Auto feature. Seems to keep blowing cold air even with the unit temp 2 degrees below the set temp.
