Looking at the reviews if you want something firm the firm version of this is not going to be as firm as many people will want.

We got this the last time it was on sale. Basically a top of the line Sealy Posturpedic Plus mattress slightly tweaked for Costco.

NO! Bought this bed pre-sale and got the firm. Love a solid firm bed. It felt so plush that I sank right into it. At 2 am I checked all the tags to confirm it was firm and not a plush they sent me. Called costco and they picked it up.

We like it. We got the firm, and if you like your mattresses to be rock hard this isn't it.

Think basically a firm or medium firm mattress with a built in mattress topper. Also YMMV depending on what kind of slats or boxspring you use with it. But we had a pretty decent memory foam mattress before and we like this better.
