I buy lots of stuff from Amazon but batteries is not one of them. Lots of counterfeits and china versions mixed in with the authentic ones. So it's a crapshoot what you get. I've bought Duracell and Panasonic batteries before from Amazon before. Duracell had Chinese written all over it as if it was version they intended to sell in that market. Not that I cared about the Chinese writing but it did make me question its build quality.as well as authenticity. Panasonic listing showed packaging which was the manufacturer packaging but when I got it, it was literally plastic sleeve with the batteries. I couldn't even tell when they expired or whether they were already expired. When putting them into my smartthings sensors, the brand new batteries showed charge of 40%. Needless to say I requested refund from Amazon but it just sucks to go through the hassle when you're expecting it start using it in the devices and finding out the batteries suck. And before anyone say I got it from third party seller, no these were both shipped and sold by Amazon.com.

Got tired of these silly 9V batteries in my previous homes and finally when I built my house a few yrs ago, I had a sperate 18 AWG pair cable pulled to every smoke alarm location. They all come down and get powered by a 9V 5AMP adapter which is then connected to a UPS with other IT equipment. No more friggin' batteries :-)

If you're not set on Energizer, Amazon Basics are $11.99 for 8 ($11.39/$10/19 for $&$ depending on your discount). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MH4QM1S

Luck favors the procrastinator.

Lol, for almost a week my far away room's smoke detector is asking battery replacement.
