I don't think this is at all a no-brainer choice. A few things about these comparisons/reviews:

(1) The M12 FUEL and Skil reviews are by the same authors, but the Skil review as a couple years earlier so it didn't have the FUEL to compare with. The reviewer clearly liked the FUEL product.
(2) The youtube review is between the Skil Brushless vs the M12 regular (i.e., not brushless) so I'm not surprised that the brushless could outperform.
(3) Yes Milwaukee is across the board more expensive than any of the other cordfree lines, but they also have a particularly deep ecosystem and almost no lemons in the line. Milwaukee is built for and targeted to contractors, Skil more targeted to DIY/prosumer.

I have not used any of these multitools (I'm still using a corded Fein) so I can't really make a comparison - I suspect the Skil would be a great choice for people who aren't really invested in an ecosystem and don't expect to expand beyond a few base tools. But for somebody already in the FUEL ecosystem, none of Milwaukee's tools have let me down and with the reviews out there I would only be shopping for the Milwaukee FUEL choice.

That would be fraud. The receipt tells you the refund amount.


They prorate the deal savings across the two line items on the receipt. In this case, it is a $169 kit plus a $119 battery, for a pre-deal total of $288 that you are getting for $169 which equates to a 41% savings.

41% off of a $119 battery comes to $69.

Any attempt to change pick up or delivery preferences for battery and tool creates the following error;
"Please make sure promotional items have the same delivery or pickup options and try again"

On 9/5 HD is running their M12 promo. See the attached image.
If you wait you can get the m12 Osc tool with x2 6AH batteries for 30 dollars more.

I actually like my non-fuel version better for specific tasks. The oscillation width (not sure what its technical term is, the amount of degrees that the blade sweeps back and forth) is wider on the fuel models and makes it harder to start a clean cut in certain materials (expensive cabinets, drywall, etc.) when you make a plunge cut. The blade tends to bounce off the material more (speed doesn't matter).
The blade is travelling further during each oscillation with an angled plunge cut and tends to "smack" the material harder causing potential bouncing across the surface.
That's also the reason why the fuel cuts faster in every situation.
I wouldn't sell your old one, it's too useful.
Besides, everyone in my area would try to offer $10, cash, today, for a limited time, "I'm doing you a favor", "can you meet me 30 minutes away", "you're so lucky I'm offering $10 you lucky SOB".

So I decided to just let the order go ahead continue process and went to bed. I woke up and see that oddly enough, they cancelled the battery addon, as if they read my mind somehow what my intentions were. Has that happened to anybody before?

Exactly what I did and what happened with mine, except they didn't cancel the battery. I could only cancel the tool, couldn't even cancel the entire order.

It might be because HD has already packaged the battery and getting ready to ship. Currently on my purchase history, I can't cancel my tool kit either. I think it is ready to ship. In any case, as long as they are separate line items, you should be able to return just the battery at your local HD store when you receive it in the mail.

I tried to cancel with in 1 min after stores were closed so I doubt it was because they already went and got the item.
