Decent deal but not that great considering they are refurbished.
Hunter fans have really gone downhill. I've got one that is only two years old but already needs a new capacitor. They won't give you the capacitor specs and you have to buy the entire wiring harness if you want OEM parts. The wiring harness is also out of stock until November. Meanwhile they've got 40 of the same fan still in stock at Home Depot.
Yeah, you can uninstall the fan to get the capacitor specs, but then you've got a fan sitting on the floor and bare wires coming out of your ceiling while you wait for the capacitor. Or you can buy a second fan, swap the parts, and return it. Or you can avoid the whole mess and buy from a better company. No way would I ever buy a refurb. Wouldn't be surprised if the one I just returned with a bad capacitor gets thrown into the refurb pile.
Hunter 54" wLight Kit and Remote
Are $99 brand new at Costco. They also don't have the best reviews.
You are risking missing parts and defective units for $20. Not worth it. Buy new.

Any of them work with the SimpleConnect app. I am unsure how to tell since half of the listings don't have pics of the remote control. (Usually the remote is shaped like an older iPod Nano if it is; narrow and long with circle buttons)

There is a manual listed on them. I was able to view the remote from there. And if anyone else is curious, they don't have a timer.
i'm a little confused at how they'd be refurbishing ceiling fans..surely these particular ones are not used in say, a commercial setting, where large-enough quantities would be used. also, the thought of uninstalling a fan, taking it apart, cleaning it, blah blah, to make it worth reselling seem slim.
so the question is, what are these really? just closeouts/clearance? old stock? but if that's the case, why call them refurbished? just reduce the warranty or something. tempted to get one though, as i realized the fan i have ready for installation is going into a plug that doesn't have its own light switch..so a remote might be preferable..sigh

I was looking to outfit my new home with ceiling fans. Most of these newer ones have integrated remotes, which aren't typically compatbile with the Lutron fan control switches. FYI. I have two separate switches for the light and the fan power/speed.
For anyone in the same situation, you'll likely want to look for the version that has the pull chain.
