Phison E18 Controller + Micron TLC, this is fast but this can be hot.
If you are using it on a PC, you just need sufficient airflow. If you are running it on a PS5, you'll need a heatsink. It's not exactly ideal for laptops. It's like a V12 engine.

The coupon still works. But it has always been only on retail price, not sale items.

The 1TB at around $93 with that code is one of the best deals around.

Unfortunately, the list prices on the higher capacity drives are so ridiculous that the coupon code is useless and the sale prices are far better.

I went with the 1tb 980 non pro Samsung refurb in the other deal for $73. I think I'll be ok with that as a game drive
Samsung Magician should tell me if there's any problems with the refurb

That is literally true since when it is not on sale at Kingston, you can use the Welcome10 code to bring it down to about the same price.

Technology tends to work that way. If you need it this is a great deal. It doesn't get as much attention as it's direct competition from WD, Samsung, or Hynix and may not be at the absolute top of every benchmark but it's always close and with the exception of recent sale on the P41 that dropped it to $208, the price per Gb considerably lower than the others ever come close to on sale. A+ deal. Also, like the poster above me said, ANY PCI-E 4.0 drive with this kind of performance is going to run reasonably hot but should be fine in any desktop with half decent airflow or the PS5 with a heatsink like Sabrent's.

Do these hold up well once it starts getting full? I plan on upgrading my 1TB pc to 2TB, mostly games will be installed with Windows 11.

Bought the 1TB version a few weeks agi and recently installed it. Crystal diskmark confirms 7071 read 6101 write @ seq. Q32T1. I compared it to my 2018 WD black, and my WD Black SN750 1TB gen 3 from two years ago and it's crazy how much faster everything is. Recommended.
