It's easy to call them that, but WipEout is also very comparable to F-Zero.

However, it wasn't F-Zero which they took inspiration from, it was Super Mario Kart, oddly enough.

That being said, I'm just glad there's more games like WipEout/F-Zero since the owners of those two IPs hardly release new games in its series, if ever (the newest FZ was on GCN).

Free to play — not to own. I guess that means you have to be connected to the internet to play

Huh didn't realize there were other wipeout rip offs. Also look into Redout if you like this kind of game.

I thought the same thing until I noticed I was logged out of Steam. Once I logged in I could "add to library."

I mean, Mario Kart was created as a Multiplayer F-Zero clone initially, so it's not that far off. ;P

Yeah, but in terms of speed it's radically different.

Even Nintendo added a 200cc mode to Mario Kart 8 because they knew 150cc was rather slow.

I am yet to see a game in this genre as good as Rollcage!

Especially when played with a SideWinder Pro ForceFeedback joystick.

Steam Deck Compatible. Brings back memories I think I might have beaten this one. Gets pretty tough after the first few levels. This is really nice of the devs. Definitely going to check out Flashout3.

Yeah it plays nice. I need to tweak the controls to my liking but was smooth. Only real gripe was I couldn't control the audio with the top buttons and hash to go into the menu.

How the heck do I change keyboard controls? Acceleration, braking, and steering with arrow keys is horrible.

Really cool. never knew this game existed. RedOut 2 looks like a much more polished game than the free one in this thread.
And the game looks amazing, something like Star wars Pod racing...though it is a pay game (atleast $30)
