I strongly do not recommend a 14" chainsaw. I have a Husqvarna chainsaw 120, while the chainsaw acts admirably, 14" is almost guaranteed to be too small for some tasks. I wish that I went for the 18" every time I need it to deal with something (which is admittedly not very often with my 1/3 acre). Still, gas or not, 14" will likely leave you in the same situation as me. Don't be like me.

Need the trimmer without battery. Why doesn't it ever go on sale???
often you can get a bare stick for less than $99 but seems like a waste when you can get a battery included that works on other tools. I got the refurb rapid reload trimmer from Acme tool for $88. Normally I don't promote them but it was like new. It wasn't the latest battery with gauge but looked new.

I was just planning ahead, if you go all in on the Ego echosystem. I have two of each - mowers blowers and sticks. I mow two or three times a week so need all the batteries I can get.

This isn't the LINE IQ trimmer right?
Correct, this is pretty much their most basic string trimmer. It's still a solid performer, even without all the convenient features (Powerload, carbon fiber, telescopic shaft, quick adjust handle, 2-speed selector).

I'm not sold on the Line IQ, the skeptic in me says it's a gimmick. However I might go for the powerload next time. I have two Rapid Reloads and they work fine, nothing too fancy. I did return one budget bare stick once. That was a few years back but it was cheap plastic toy on the business end.

For those experienced with the trimmer, the "load" lines on the bottom are supposed to be lined up to load new line, but where are they supposed to be lined up when the trimmer is in use?

I have the trimmer with the Line IQ. I'm not impressed. The trimmer let's the line gets very short and without warning, releases more line. It's unpredictable. If I had to do it again, I would get a more basic trimmer with the "bump" feed. Aside from the Line IQ, I really like the Ego trimmer.

I did not like the line IQ and ended up returning the trimmer. The main reason though was because it spins counter clockwise and I could not get used to it. Every other trimmer I have owned spinned clockwise.

I've been getting a little frustrated with Ego. The only Ego item I own is a string trimmer that gets moderate use. I've has the battery replaced under warranty, no questions asked. But this week I've discovered my charger seems to not be willing to charge the battery. My replacement battery is about 2 or 3 years old and charger is about 5. I have other chargers for other brands that have lasted longer. Ego trimmer performance and durability is great, but the battery/charger seems to fail prematurely.
probably an issue with the battery and not the charger.

the charger is probably detecting a fault with the battery and refusing to charge it so it doesnt burn your house down.

Buy nothing from lowes. Unless you love wasting hours on the phone trying to resolve blatant frauds.

Well, now....thanks for the Lowe's down! I don't particularly love the store, but I've never had a fraud problem with items bought there.

Someone recently told me that one of The Ego blowers is far less powerful than the latest top end unit but it's not nearly as loud or shrieking and it's the sweet spot in their opinion. Anyone know which model that would be? I know there was at least one above it and one below it in the pecking order but that's all I know. I think maybe like a 620 or a 575 idk ..,maybe 535 I suppose but I'm going from memory and my memory is shit so I'm pulling numbers from my ass, scientishously speaking.

And yes I know this shouldn't be rocket surgery but I'm in space right now and I'm not coming down until I've had this surgery

Milwaukee just released a 36V (18V X2) blower and with Milwaukee's battery range that gives it the highest watt hour capacity of any of the blowers tested, but the catch is Torque test channel hadnt reviewed the latest ego stuff so maybe they've released different batteries since then that changes the equation. If anyone that knows all the things watches the new video on Torque Test Channel for milwaukees 600CFM @ 145MPH blow machine let us know if the numbers and rank Hold up or not. Thanks.

Update: as I think about it I'd be shocked if ego doesn't have a 56V battery that has more watt hours than Milwaukee's 36 24Ah setup (2 12Ah's) but we shall see
