This thing matches a 3090, or smokes it if you overclock it (for 1440p performance on all games). The temps look to hover around the 50°s and Overclocking it still leaves it in the high 50s even at 2700MHz. That's pretty insane. If you're on the fence for this card, you could order it in Amazon and just hold it for 30 days without opening it and return it if you run into a better deal before September ends.

I wouldn't get a 3090 though either. 3080 or 6800 are better at 500 which 6800 is hitting now. You don't get much more performance here.

May as well wait now imo. 3-4 months. It is over 700 and you have to have a water cooler attached to this one. I've seen a normal 6900xt for under 700 new several times. 50c is really not necessary. GPUs have been running much hotter than this for a decade it just brings up the price of the card....

Why is there still a blower fan on the GPU if there's a water block and liquid cooling loop on it too?
Isn't that as unnecessarily redundant as using Norton and McAfee at the same time, or using 2 N95 masks on top of each other instead of just 1?
There are VRMs, memory modules on the pcb. Most watercooledGPUs dont cool those with the waterblock. This Asus STRIX widens the block to help cool the VRMs while the blower fan cools the VRAM. You need to get something like those EVGA hydro copper GPUs if you want one purely watercooled. AIO GPUs are hybrid and still need a single small fan on the pcb.

Cheaper in rog website https://rog.asus.com/us/graphics-...ing-model/

You linked a different model. That's the O16G version(overclock). This deal is the TOP edition T16G model. Which is the top binned XTXH chip. It is also on the Asus website for the same price https://shop.asus.com/us/90yv0gf1-m0aa00-rog-strix-lc-rx6900xt-t16g-gaming.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw9suYBhBIEiwA7iMhNDJrdk8t2UWcqFkzWFPw6fXREkZ3kHUFilX7_MXKw3bObv4MJzetUxoCdG4QAvD_ [asus.com]BwE

It is not just temperature.
Many mid size case simply cannot accommodate 12 inch cards that most higher end cards are nowadays. This allows smaller case to fit. Not gonna lie, I am actually interested in this product. Along with EVGAs water cooled 3080 cards

Better Binned chip. Better bin = Higher clocks at lower voltages. Basically think of it as their best of the best chips.

The XTXH chip is one of the top percent binned chip that allows you to push overclocks. It's basically a high priced chip already pulled from a lottery. A regular or even a OC version of a 6900XT will not beat the clockspeed of this XTXH version. At $759, it's a great price. Pre pandemic and no inflation, this would cost $1200. Typical $200 premium for buying a hybrid watercooled high binned card.
