I bought and returned this model. While technically quiet, it has a very annoying "whining" sound, like being able to hear the faint sound of a leaf blower in the background. It's so much more annoying then the typical fan sound. This only occurred with auto and it's on the lowest fan speed setting

The other issue is that if anything falls in the vent spaces it's a complete teardown of the machine to get it out. So anyone with children should keep this in mind.

And finally, when on auto it rarely kicked up past the lowest speed. Well I bought the coway model instead and this kicks on much more often on auto.

Anyone know which filters they use and how much they typically cost? Thanks!

Enough filters for 2 years.
Also Costco usually had this on sale for $99, smaller less powerful but sale brand

If this uses the same filter as the C535 but moves more air.... logic would say the filter will clog more quickly.

Agreed, this doesn't make sense.
I'm guessing they will retire their $100 C535 and force people into the new $160 model.

I have one of these and while it's good at what it does, the auto mode is useless in a dark room like a basement. It'll never ramp up speed because it constantly thinks it's "sleeping", so you can only manually set the speeds. I use a schedule on mine, but it isn't ideal.

Dumb question... I have a bedroom that accumlates dust VERY QUICKLY, I assume it's the bedding. Will this help combat that? Thanks in advance!

It would help a little in that it would capture dust in the air and reduce buildup, but dust that's already sitting will not be bothered by this.

You could set it on high occasionally and give everything a good whack/brush to get dust airborne.

Best thing is to also wash your bedding thoroughly and regularly.

I picked this up the last time it was on sale and i like it, it is bigger than the smaller C535, but one big difference is that it does not have the super annoying undulating whirring fan noise that BOTH of my 535s have. One of them is getting worse over time so i want to replace it. The C909 just has a normal white noise fan sound that you expect, so never buying a 535 again...
