These do much more than a push stick does. In addition to pushing the piece through, they hold it down to the table and in to the fence. A huge advantage is in controlling the workpiece and offcut all the way through and completely past the blade, eliminating kickback.

It's the surprising and uncontrolled kickback which results in most table saw injuries.

FYI there's a second gen aka "+" that just came out with msrp of $50, so this old version probably will drop further

In before the "you can just 3d print your own for less" or "you can buy a Chinese knockoff for way less" comments start. For those who think their fingers are worth less than 50$, I can only say, have a nice day.

THANK YOU! Ordered the new version (looks like it added a width ruler). Shipping from MicroJig was free.

Weirdly if you use the promo code WELCOME10 you save an additional $5, but then when I entered my email and chose PayPal it updated the screen and said this offer isn't available to you. Anyone else have luck?

If you're on the fence (Ha ha) thinking this seems expensive for what it is, yes--it's pricey--but these work really well. Worth the money--I've gotten a ton of use out of mine.

Can I 3d print my fingers for less than $50? Or get knockoffs?
I do think these are great, but also depends on what you're trying to do.
Thin rips I would rather do with a sacrafice push block and thin rip jig than a grr-ripper.

It's not just fingers. When the wrong kind of plastic is used, contact with the blade could result in nearly instantaneous spectacular deconstruction that'll send shrapnel everywhere at very high speeds. Microjigs won't do that.

I have the Grr-ripper GR-100 and it is stamped "Made in USA", while the new one appears to be just designed in the US. I did want to get another one, but I think I would be better off with just getting a GRR-RIP BLOCK Smart Pushblock, which is only $25 through Home Depot and is also eligible for their military discount.
All that said, while I have had no incidents in 20+ years of occasional table saw use, I wish I would have bought this earlier, as it definitely adds a safety factor over the pushblocks that came with my Ridgid saw.

I know alot of people swear by these, but I got one and don't use it. After setting it up and adjusting and readjusting, it didn't seem worth the effort. It does what it's advertised to do and definitely helps with particular small and thin cuts, but it's few and far for me. If you're making the same repeatable small cuts, it might be worth it.

I purchased this when I barely started getting into woodworking and was a bit intimidated by the running blade on a table saw. With all the ads and sponsors on youtube, and many experience woodworkers swear by it, it seems like a no brainer easy purchase for beginners. But honestly, over the year, I don't think I have ever got the worth of it. I found myself using a regular, well made push block (together with a push stick if i need more confidence) much more than this thing, except in a few corner cases (such as thin strip cutting). I just feel more confident with a push block/stick heel than the grip surface. You can attach a push heel block to the gripper, but that's just one more thing to do. And you have to be constantly aware of the placement of the gap, if you are cutting a piece is narrower than the width of the gripper block itself, so that the blade can pass through, same with the height of the blade vs the height of the gap, and the gripper supporting height balancing. Not to mention that I never that comfortable with my hand going over the blade with the gripper. Maybe this is the type of diligence i need to do anyway for each cut, but i just found that using a good push block and stick is much simpler, and just as safe if you follow the right safety guidelines. That said, for cutting thin strips and some small pieces, it is a fantastic tool.

And everyone seems to be focusing on the table saw, but this can also be used for router tables. I don't even own a table saw, and I found this to be worth the money for template routing small pieces, because that feels so sketchy otherwise

Really can be used on anything with a fence as it also works vertically for jointers, bandsaws, and the like, as well as on miter saws.

Not a tool for "everyone", but is great for repeat cuts and for saws/tools that don't have blade guards where you have to be close to the blades, or for people who need the extra stability of a handle while keeping fingers clear of the choppy-choppy parts.
