How does the M18 FUEL compare with the M12 FUEL? If you have both battery types, any reason to get the M12?

I haven't used the new M18 Osc tool, but I have the dewalt XR osc tool and the M12 Fuel osc tool and I don't see a difference in power. I really like the m12. I imagine the new m18 will have more power but it's also bigger and heavier.

I have not used both, but the M18 gets heavy (if you have 1.5AH batteries it might not be bad at all). M18 probably gets you more power too, but this is one of the tools that people generally seem to prefer in the M12.

If it's not a tool you use much, it might not matter - both will do what you need. If you need the battery for one system or the other, that might be a reasonable way to decide.

There was a deal not long ago for the M12 Fuel + 4ah battery that I snagged (still waiting on delivery), for $100. The M18 batteries have a higher value for sure, but personally I wouldn't jump on this deal unless I needed this tool and/or the battery for a project.

This is not a bad deal IMO, just not one of those steals that comes through from time to time.

M12 is very good and power is just a smidge under the m18 but the m18 vibration is actually a bit better. I have both. M12 is more useful in tighter areas but m18 for little more power and less vibration

I have the M18 oscillating tool, and I wish I had the M12 instead.

The M18 is heavy with its battery, and unless you are using the tool to cut through a bunch of steel I would stick with the M12 for the lighter weight and maneuverability.

Might be worth investing in the CP3.0 battery (that still allows high output) since it's quite a bit lighter than the normal battery.

Regular M12 is junk. You will not be happy unless it is M12 fuel.
