Does anyone have any experience with the HP Victus product line? I liked my old Omen laptop, not sure how this Victus compares.

FP-kind of deal. $65 less than the similarly configured, recent FP Costco Lenovo desktop.

Awesome deal for the specs. One potential concern is OEM cooling on the CPU is usually lacking and airflow in these Victus cases is really not good. If you don't need it running at peak performance this is a great option, just be aware the CPU will likely throttle under heavy load and the GPU will get noisy at peak as well.

Same. I qualify for First Responder Discount but code won't work. Still brings it to $929 and 3 Free gifts - headphones, mouse pad, and "gaming" mouse.

Really debating between this and the custom build I put together on PC part picker. It would be my first gaming PC.

My build is $1,500 AND includes a 32" monitor, speakers, and WAY better cooling. I know the GPU isn't as good.

The cooling on the Victus has me worried and I don't think I need an i7.

Anyone mind checking my build, see what they think? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/v8pZqm

Just got my costco lenovo yesterday. Can any experienced pc builders comment on both costco lenovo and this hp?

This is my first lenovo. How are their quality and built?

I have had hp laptops throughout the years with no issue.

Tempting to return the lenovo and get this.

But on the other hand, costco has 90 days return policy vs hp 30 days with restocking fee. And costco 2 years warranty vs hp 1 year.

Good deal. There are a number of youtube videos, reddit threads and posts on various tech forums that show various cooling mods. Most involve at least some sort of rigging, but the majority of posters say they've been successful in reducing temperatures.

I have no relationship to that youtuber - it's just the first video that came up. It shows an easy and straightforward modification to the Victus 15L.

Pretty weak for $1.5k honestly, if you want something to last get a better PSU and NVME SSD, at least that way you can improve your system long term using those parts long term, if you can wait Nvidia should be launching next gen soon and the market will heavily discount GPUs

You might have missed it. It's got a 1TB NVME SSD, and a 2TB HDD.
