You can't go into the negative with a plan only even if you have more than enough kickback.
Only if you bring EIP into the mix will bring a negative balance.

- Go to a website like airalo.com & Buy an eSim and install it in 30 seconds
- Turn on the installed eSim line when you land, and have instant local coverage
- It's $20 for 3gb data plan that's usable in all the EU countries for 30 days or $100 for 50gb over 90 days. Much cheaper if you buy a data plan for a specific country..
Newer iPhones also support wifi calling over cellular, where your primary (US) line will use the data-only eSim to provide full service, even though you're abroad.
eSims are a game-change for convenience, but the cheapest option will always be getting a local sim card... Apple taking away the option to have that is absolute BS, imo

I have ONE plan with Plus Promo on all lines. For years I have also had the $15 ONE Plan Plus on one of my lines and only learned last year that I might quality for the Max equivalent device promotion. Sure enough, that's exactly what I was able to do.
Not sure it this still works (this was last November for me) but it is worth a try to add the $15 ONE Plan Plus to one of your lines to upgrade for maximum device credit. If it doesn't work you can always remove the upgrade on that line. If it does work then keep the plan in place until you have received all of the device credits. This way you keep your lower cost ONE plan - no need to change to Magenta Max.
You need to keep the plan active on your line until you have received all of the device credits.
