If you don't need it asap, just wait
The 850 had the older BiCS4 96L TLC NAND. The X uses the newer BiCS 5 112 layer TLC to better compete with the Micron 176 layer NAND used by competitors and stay on top as one of the fastest.

The controller is a newer version tweaked for the new NAND. I don't think the controller hardware has changed though.

The 850x over 850 looks similar to an incremental refresh Kingston did from the KC3000 to Fury Renegade.

I would buy the cheapest of the 850x or the Fury Renegade (1TB is $110 at TigerDirect, $115 at B&H).

Whatever you want to call it is fine. Technically it is the same tweaked Phison controller just a software tweak version change. My point really is that it is the same evolution of the Kingston. If you want to call both upgrades, sure. The impact is incremental. The X is mostly marketing hype.
