These are very popular in Asia and you can get them at dollar stores. These looks like slightly better quality than dollar store generic ones but I don't really think there is much functionality differences.

Last last week I had to replace my ac capacitor, and there was a yellow jacket nest right under it, I saw them flying in and out I've been spraying for like two months but wasn't harming colony.

well, I put fresh batteries in, used electrical tape over the button, set it over the hole. Within a second, zap, then a thousand other zaps. Lol

it doesn't tell the voltage on these. I've seen them with up to 4,000 volts.

I personally have used similar devices to take care of several infestations. once with houseflies, more recently with fruit flies. I went after each fruit fly & zapped them until there were no more. I would need a much heartier one if I were to go after lanternflies. but for now, I hunt them down & beat them with a shoe.

I got it last week with coupon $2.99 at HF. This is my second one from them and they work really well.

They didn't catch fire? I have a similar one and if I hold the button down after swatting a fly they catch fire eventually.

Nope. But I did see some smoking. I changed the batteries 3x, I left the racket outside for 24 hours, changing batteries every 8 hours. Worked on ac next day. Saw an occasional straggler but I got most of them.

I don't think because these guys are bigger it can catch fire, just smokes a little. I think flies have less size, so a crispier critter idk

On the racket spines there's some crunchy black pieces, kind of like a air fryer metal basket. Some dark spots etc

The target doesn't know which room you are in, so why not? If you are being a weirdo: you can zap anything small enough to fit through the screen and touch the electrified part. In your case, I'm sure it will work.

I think it has to touch both outside + inside to complete the electrical circuit. Just touching inside or outside won't zap

I could be wrong. I'm not sticking finger in to try lol

I'm probably wrong, probably is just center. Outside is probably just a safety against kids
