Finally caved on trying some wireless buds, worth a shot paired with S22+ -- and had a $25 AMEX discount burning a hole in my pocket.

I'll try to return the charger....seems like it may work, here's the Amazon language.

-Offer discount will be allocated proportionally among all promotional items in your order.
-If any of the products or content related to this offer are returned, your refund will equal the amount you paid for the product or content, subject to applicable refund policies.

And upon check out it showed like $92 for the buds and $34 for the charger (before tax), after the promos listed here and the $25 AMEX discount. So in theory they should just refund the $34+tax (less shipping) we'll see.

Summary:
Order Summary
Item(s) Subtotal:$214.90
Shipping & Handling:$0.00
Amex 20% off:-$25.00
Offer applied:-$59.91
Your Coupon Savings:-$3.00
Total before tax:$126.99
Estimated tax to be collected:$10.16
Gift Card Amount:-$120.00
Rewards Points:-$0.01
Grand Total:$17.14

Return of Charging Pad: $36.83

Final Total: $100.31

woah, irritation? is it from the rubber tips?
now I'm doubting my purchase lol... I have the buds+ now and I dont have any issues
That's the rub- no one is quite sure. Some people think it's the silicon, others think it's the nickel that's supposedly used in the charging contacts, some think it might be electromagnetic somehow. All I know is that there was a significant number of people (myself included) who never had any issues with other earbuds, but suddenly started getting ear infections after switching to Galaxy Buds Pro or Buds 2. It usually involves redness, irritation, fluid discharge, scabbing, etc. In my case, I had all of those, but never severely- it was just annoying. On the other hand, my wife also has a set of Buds Pro and doesn't have any issues from it.
All I know is that even though it's only a relatively small number of people who are impacted, there are enough that Samsung is acknowledging that there is some sort of issue and they have a dedicated team to deal with the claims (and like I said, they are offering refunds and reimbursement for medical expenses. Oh, and there is a class action lawsuit in the early stages, but I don't know the details on it)

Quote from Naxra :
Samsung paid your medical expenses? That's pretty interesting, could you elaborate on that?
That's pretty much it. I read somewhere that I should contact a moderator on Samsung's community forum and report that I got ear infections. Once I did, they reached out to me to collect some details about my usage (hours per day, length of ownership, etc) and sent me a box to send my earbuds to them for evaluation. They also requested that I send them a copy of my receipt (if I still had it), pictures of my ears (which I told them was pointless since the redness/infection was deep in the ear canals, but they still wanted), and copies of any doctor/pharmacy bills related to the ear infections. A week or so later, I got an email from them with details about how to collect my refund payment, which added up to my original purchase price + an office visit at a local clinic + the pharmacy bill for the antibiotics they prescribed.

Same old thing they've been doing for years. Use at least 1 MR point and get x% off. Discover, Chase and Citi do these deals too just less frequently.

Also assuming you have an Amazon card, you're better off reloading your Amazon balance using your Amazon Card first. Then making your purchase using one credit card point and the Amazon Balance. That way you get your 5% CB from the Amazon card too.

Deal is back up, I think Amazon hiccupped. Engadget had reported on this deal around the time the SD was posted. I assume they were given an official or quasi official heads up of the deal before writing an article about it. Anyone know how to flag this thread as a re-up?
