Bought one of these for $99 and thought it sounded awesome but returned it. Why would you do that you ask?
Well, it spoiled me. When you get something that's 90% excellent you start thinking about how much more useful it could have been if they just added a couple simple things.
It's so good sounding, it's a shame they don't have a means to select patches (or boost) on the fly (I.e. compatibility w/3rd party Bluetooth or midi switcher, or at least a small app).
If you just want to play one tone and never change mid-song, it works for that.
One small thing that bugged me (and people seemed to be complaining about) was a buzzing/hiss when playing a note before the built in noise gate cutoff. It got irritating. Some people hear it and it's subtle enough that many have no issue with it or don't hear it at all.
I'll wait for V2 and maybe they will include some external control & preset patch select on the fly capability. If they did, you could gig with this thing!
If you need to practice quietly and/or want a travel headphone practice option, it works great but otherwise it's just another $100 sitting around while you use your real amps.

This amp is great for quiet practice. Great tones and a very stable bluetooth connection to my devices. The only thing missing is a built in tuner.

Wow that is a nice price-- I love mine. I never experienced any of the gating issues referred to in the original post but I updated the firmware of mine as soon as I got it so maybe that was an original release issue? USB-C, rechargable, has some cool stereo effects (the best is stereo reverb which is very cool) allows bluetooth playalong with your phone (fire up youtube and look for things to play along with). I do like the fact that it is self contained and you don't need an app to change the settings. 100% recommend

This is the best micro out there. I have the Vox and it is OK (very few tones per model). The bluetooth connection to phone/computer is a major plus that others don't have. It is great to jam to something or utilize a metronome when practicing. Also useful if you are doing online lessons.

The Vox AmPlug2 is highly rated and is currently half the price, $40.

I was thinking of getting this a while back, but then saw the NUX Mighty Plug Pro, and that seemed like the better product.

It has all the features that the Fender has, but it also is much much much more flexible and gives a wider range of tones and sounds. So far, I'm loving it.

It is slightly more expensive, but it's definitely worth the extra 20$.

Didn't it just come out a year ago?

Different beasts. I have a portable amp too, but this thing is perfect for practice.

I first bought it at $100 (MSRP when it first came out) and have been wanting to get another. Why? because I use it a lot.

When paired with noise-cancelling headphones and stream a backing track via my phone, I can practice for hours without even noticing it. The hours and hours of fun means you'll improve for sure.

It's totally portable: everything goes with me if I use the bathroom, answer the door, grab a beer from the fridge. There's no stopping.

Since I use it so much, I just leave it attached to my practice guitar all the time. Here's my practice rig:
https://i.ibb.co/d41wt4m/20220908-225633.jpg

I just bought one as a backup (for the times when I forget to charge mine; the battery lasts list forever, which also means I forget to charge it once a while). Thanks OP!

Don't know when it exactly came out, but I remember being on the waiting list for it last year around summer/this time. It was sold out everywhere!

I wanted to get another one, but noticed Fender had increased its price to $120 so I never got one; until now.

This thing is great for practice. The key is a pair of noise-cancelling headphones; one can get totally lost in music for hours with this because you are sonically isolated from the world (and I play the guitar a lot of times even with my eyes closed). Many times, I simply had to stop because I practiced too long and was running late for other things (BTW, great to have alarms on your phone). The BT is essential for good practice because a backing track is needed for extra fun!

I had the Amplug before this. There's no comparision. This wins in everyway. It's got better sound; USB output for recording; rechargeable battery (although this can be a minus); and most importantly, it's got Bluetooth. Streamming a backing track is essential to keep practice fun (at least for me).
