Yeah and nowhere near the deal quality of getting these refurbished Sony cans.. and "using w/ apple TV" just sounds hilarious, you can use any headphones with that, and that's weird because you should be using a real speaker system with that..
Not much of a different use case there lmao..

You can use any headphones sure, but uh, it gets annoying very quickly to have to manually connect the headphones each time. The integration and absolute ease of use is a definite plus for the Max.
Not everyone can use a "real speaker system" and acting like using headphones to watch films or TV as being "weird" is so bizarre. And it is absolutely a different use case, unless you have some personal definition where that means something else to you. There's no way that you aren't just trolling at this point
Yeah apples support of codecs is garbage, unfortunate really

But you don't? They have Bluetooth pairing and Bluetooth multipoint.. this means when paired to a systems Bluetooth, like your phone, turning on your headphones automatically connects them to your phone.. did you forget about this lol? And multipoint means it can connect to multiple systems at the same time, any and all Bluetooth devices in fact unlike Apple's.
Didn't forget about it, I use multipoint on my XM4s every day. But you don't really understand the limitations of multipoint. My headphones will connect automatically to the last two devices connected - normally this means that upon powering on, they will pair to my computer and phone. But let's say I want to use them with my Apple TV - I have to go into settings, Bluetooth, and manually connect to them. This will normally replace the first device, and if it's my phone, that means that the next time I want to connect the headphones to my phone, I have to manually connect them. And then there are times where i start playing something on one device, but no audio goes through because the headphones are playing from the other device (which is muted or is not playing any audio). So yeah, it's a very convoluted process. Then there are times where I turn them on, and because my last connected devices includes the Apple TV, if someone happens to be watching something, it cuts the audio because it connects to my headphones. Then I have to hope that the next device I connect to will replace the Apple TV on the headphones, or have whoever is watching manually disconnect my headphones…. Ultimately I only use my AirPods with my Apple TV because Bluetooth multipoint is a half-baked feature, and while Apple's own implementation isn't perfect, it is leagues better and easier to use in every conceivable way. Hopefully all of that captured my frustration so you can feel it, too.
This is the real reason non apple headsets take a quality hit with apple products. I made the switch from Android to IPhone with my Logitech headset and the call quality got significantly worse thanks no AAC or high end Bluetooth connectivity
Planning to get this for a friend as a gift (they wanted me to get this refurbished deal for them to save some money); just wanted to know if it comes presentably packaged or in a random box with accessories strewn about.

It's well fitted. Just not the retail box.
