This has a single heater filament under the thin aluminum plate so there is quite a bit of non uniform heating. If you don't keep moving the whatever you are cooking or heating it will cook. In uniformly or even on one side. I love this to pre heat tortillas and rotis in this before putting it on a flame.

Compared to what I have the electric is on the wrong side if I wanted to use the warming tray. Not sure I can adjust from black to tan when doing my eggs or pancakes either.

Have had one of these for about 3 years and we use it quite often. Heating can be a little uneven in places but I found uses for that when I want to cook two different things at once, which happens more often than you might think. Biggest praise I can give this is that it's lasted and just as good as the day I bought it.

When I do pancakes on these types of griddles they always end up crispy, overcooked on outsideand slightly mushy, raw in middle. Tried adjusting temps but still same issue. Same with using a dash mini griddle.
