I'm pretty heavily invested in the 18v and 40v Ryobi lines, what's in the M12 line that Ryobi doesn't have? Not trolling, just trying to figure out what might be good to have in this smaller form factor. I mean, the rocket light is a nice compliment to my 18v Ryobi non-tripod (can't remember which one it is)

I'm heavy into Ridgid and I find myself using the m12 impact and drill more than my Ridgid 18v stuff. Love the compact size and feel.

You're probably fine.

The M12 surge is so light and compact and quiet. It fits into so many spaces. It's the best driver I've ever used. The size makes it way more precise for building furniture. And I have some kinda arthritis so my hands appreciate how ergo it is.

I use a drill/driver every day so it matters to me.

That said I pretty much only have a drill and a driver in m12 and that's all I need

(Hackable) means you don't have to purchase entire deal. Items are discounted individually to equal sale price. Whichever item you keep would be the price displayed in your cart. The other item will be refunded.

to expand on this - the M12 line is very expansive, probably only second to Ryobi 18V (they are owned by the same parent company).

I'm pretty heavily invested in the m12 line at work, and use the fuel impact driver and hammer drill every day. i also use regularly the 3" cutoff saw, the fuel wetvac, the fuel oscillating multitool (don't bother with non-fuel) and an assortment of lights and they're fantastic.
at home, i have m12 as well. impact, drill, screwdriver, oscillating multitool, all great. i use the impact wrench as well as the ratchet to work on my car.

you can call me a fanboy, but i don't own the m12 fan yet!

What I don't geabojt the multi tool is why do I have the quick connect and the coin screw in. Kinda defeats the purpose if I have to use a tool to unscrew the coin clamp after I pull up the lever. But I do like it. I saw the fine sanding tool and was like why do I need that if I have the multi tool? And why not have that fine sanding. Block for the multi tool?

That said, I have ryobi's 18v brushless and end up using the M12 stuff more. Can fit more tools in a smaller bag, batteries are more compact. Haven't had any issues wanting more oomph from any of th fuel tools.

Will be working with a contractor to change the basement stairwell and go through a closet to add a landing and 90 deg turn. Then a kitchen reno and mudroom teardown and redo. Pretty sure I'll not touch the ryobi outside of the circular saw and Sawzall for demo.

m12 cutoff tool might be one. ryobi has one, but it uses big full size battery

there is also adopter on ebay that lets you convert cutoff tool into belt file.

So I have gotten out of hand with cordless tools over the last 10 years. Started with Ryobi 18v but now have most 18 volt brands. Bought Ryobi for price, Makita for durability, M12 for size, Ridgid for warranty, and m18 for power. Also run the 40v Ryobi lawn tool line which has been very solid. I often repair fences and other handyman work and wear a tool belt with spots to hang drill/driver. My go to setup is my m12 fuel impact and 18v Makita subcompact impact. One with torx bit, the other Phillips for 4" screws.

For automotive work. Ridgid 3/8" subcompact impact wrench handles most tasks. High torque one for suspension. M12 non fuel rachet for tight spaces.

The grip of the m12 impact is a bit larger than the 18v types as it contains the battery pack. Once you get used to it, it's fine. For overall comfort, the Makita 18v impact driver is likely my favorite but gotta use a smaller battery (2ah).

For 40v Ryobi line, I have put min 100 hrs on my carbon fiber shaft HP trimmer. Has plenty of power. No issues at all.

Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps.
