Good price, and I am a Costco fan but the waiting time for tire service at Costco can be long. Remember that you have to go back for periodic rotations, and the time adds up. PM Costco at a tire store and get faster service.

I just had Discount Tire price match a set of Cross Climate 2's. It came out cheaper at Discount Tire. The out the door price was I had added to the cart, before any taxes even applied. I also used this a few months back for the BFGoodrich deal, same deal with matching the cart price. This included labor, taxes and all other fee's which saved another $100 or 2.

This is normal promo for Michelin tires at Costco. Taking a look at the prices just now and they've gotten more expensive...dang inflation!

Just go to discount tire and PM tirebuyer after tirebuyer 15% coupon. Choose the cheapest tirebuyer installer and have DT pm that too. Will cost much less than any Costco promo and with DT you also get pro rata road hazard without certificates.

I've bought tires from Costco for the past 20 years. I've never had anything like that ever happen. I go in tell them what tires I want and they process the sale. They don't work on commission. I call BS on this.
Just1guy may not have provided all the info from the Costco experience. If they picked out a tie in too different a size or speed rating than what the Camry came with originally because I'd be cheaper, Costco wouldn't sell the tires due to safety issues.

Consider yourself lucky. I'm dealing with uneven wear on our Volvo XC90 right now, which may force me to get new tires sooner than I should.

I want a rotation and alignment deal; do people really get tires re-balanced?
Are you rotating your tires every 5k? Do you need an alignment or need other suspension work? Do you corner at too high a speed? If any of the above is "yes", do the opposite😉 and your tires should wear "evenly".

I don't understand why anyone would hate on Costco for tires.

* No hassle low price when on sale
* Free rotation and balancing for life
* Free road hazard warranty. They also properly plug and patch (not just plug).
* Nitrogen filled
* Appointments for install and rotations
* Professional, trained tire staff

It's a class operation. I don't buy tires anywhere else.

I did buy Michelin cross climate 2 for my accord and paid around 841$
Last Sunday
Installation is free at Costco
No extra charge for recycling or so .

Each tire is marked at 212.99

All 4 tires came around 851.96

There is some fee of 79.96

Total is 931.92

And then 150$ off came to 840.76..

Can you have other stores price match costco with the discount?
I've had Firestone match it as well. It came out marginally cheaper (maybe $20)

Set up an appointment for installation, rotation, etc. and you're out in less than an hour.

does costco let you keep your old tires and not charge you the disposal?
I think they will let you keep your old tire but they still charge you for the disposal.

I thought that was crazy too ... so I called the manager . He backed up the salesman ..
" we only sell tires that are recommended by the manufacturer for your car" ....I never ran into that at any other tire store . You know that Toyota recommends the most expensive set of tires for my Camry.

$79.96 to install
$150 off seem like big discount but cost us $9.96 more

Got a nail on the side of the tire last week.
Went back to Costco, tire not in stock, special order. Coming in 10 days.
Tire going to be in warranty, but not install. $9.99 to install for warranty plus fees for disposal, valve stem or something, Costco said around $22.
Car is on jack. I'm not going to drive w tiny spare tire.
So in the future, I have to think twice b4 buying from Costco.

Just FYI, that fee is for installation.

With that said, we can all just compare the final out-the-door price if we're price shopping, which in your case was $840.76.

Not that much different than stores that offer "free shipping" and other places that sell the same item for less but charge a shipping fee. Final price is what matters anyway.

I'm going with Costco also (already posted in this thread).

I got burned buying a set of Michelin's about 12 years ago when I got 54k miles out of a set of truck tires that had a 80k mileage rating which had been properly inflated and rotated every 5k. The set cost $850 and I got a credit towards the new set, but that didn't save Michelin's reputation in my book and that was the last time I went with Michelin's.
If I get 25% of a tire's warranted range, I'm ecstatic. It depends on the roads you drive and how you drive. Also, always zero out the toe.

I've had luck getting America's Tire to price match Costco sales. Put the tires in your cart and print it out showing the discount.
