Good price, and I am a Costco fan but the waiting time for tire service at Costco can be long. Remember that you have to go back for periodic rotations, and the time adds up. PM Costco at a tire store and get faster service.

I just had Discount Tire price match a set of Cross Climate 2's. It came out cheaper at Discount Tire. The out the door price was I had added to the cart, before any taxes even applied. I also used this a few months back for the BFGoodrich deal, same deal with matching the cart price. This included labor, taxes and all other fee's which saved another $100 or 2.

This is normal promo for Michelin tires at Costco. Taking a look at the prices just now and they've gotten more expensive...dang inflation!

Bridgestone warranty is better and their regular deal is same as Michelin. Quality is the same.

Not all Costco run the same way. The one close to me is always busy and they make mistakes. Last time they forgot to replace my valve stem and caused flat tire a few days later. Also, as many said that the tire selections are limited and some can be costly. Further, their rotation and balance is only 9 years of the tires manufacture date. I took my car in earlier this year wanting to get the tires, which still has plenty of treds left, rotated and balanced one last time before change them out for the winter. They told me that the tires are 9.5 years old. Time for a new set and refused my rotate and balance request as the tires are at the end of life. I used to only buy tires from PriceClub/Costco. Not any more.

True, and the warranty says up to 40k coverage so I didn't expect a long-lasting tire laugh out loud.

Driving style should matter a ton towards that tread life however, and I drive my car like a normal human 95% of the time. I mainly just make turns and accelerate into those highway ramps faster than I would with normal tires, and drive those small windy roads with more confidence, so I'm hoping for closer to to 40k than 25k. I'll be monitoring closely either way at it gets around 25k miles.

Do you have experience with their AS tires? I'm on the AS4s btw if that makes a difference in durability.

One thing i know is don't go by names, go by the specs, Eg: Uniform Tire Quality Grade (UTQG) score (Treadwear & Traction rating) along with treadwear protection warranty (or Tread Depth when one is not available & u still want it which is not the case with these tires) can be compared...AFAIK speed rating corresponds to traction aswell in an inverse relationship, so you go with one or the other based on your need (that said most of us need traction over speed rating and therefore only thing to look is if it supports the minimum speed rating for your vehicle)

Your dry rot experience doesn't surprise me. Six years old is old for a tire and most manufacturers recommend replacing tires after 6 or 7 years, regardless of their mileage.

I meant that after they get new tires and balance the wheels, people don't usually get them rebalanced until they buy new tires.
