Thanks for posting this. I was considering their modular hitch system but I'm now suspect that they will release new products that work with the system. Chapter 128 is a Wisconsin bankruptcy like filing that prioritizes keeping jobs in Wisconsin. For that reason, some of the articles from June were hoping that Trek would buy them.

I just hope you never have to use customer support. I spent 2 hours on hold trying to get my order cancelled only to be told the shipping dept was closed (I had called multiple times that day to try and intercept and cancel). Notes on my order clearly never made it to shipping, as 16 hours later the product shipped and now I have to use the RMA process to get the return going. No email responses (24 hours ongoing) no callbacks after leaving voicemails.

That's unfortunate. And with your issues, getting on the phone is sometimes the only option, as you need to get it canceled right away. I emailed their support awhile back, as one of my "arms" on the bike rack was a bit wonky. They shipped out a replacement arm the next day and I received it within a few days. I'm assuming that because of their current situation (financial issues), they may have laid off some of their support staff. And also when a deal like this hits the front page of SD, they are probably overwhelmed with all the orders.

I got the MHS 2+1 base with a single tray and the swing away system.
The swing away got hit in shipping and a plastic cap shattered. Other than that everything was fine.
I tried contacting their support via their ticketing system to see if I could get a replacement cap. After a week of nothing, they automatically closed the ticket with some canned responses of 'sorry we're taking so long, if you still need help open a new ticket, and feel free to buy replacement parts on our website.
I did indeed open another ticket, with no response for quite a while. I just gave up and assumed I'd not get a plastic cap. Whatever, also won't buy from them again.
Just last week they finally responded with 'sorry we're sending a new one'..
I got the UPS ship notice yesterday. So, eventually they did send a replacement part, but it took a month.

Also found out that the swing away + MHS 2+1 base sticks out too far from my vehicle for Texas laws. It's over 4', so requires a flag be placed on it. Nothing to do with them, but just a note that it might be an issue for other people.
