Not from what I'm seeing. Latest reviews are that the Monoliths are 3-way with more accurate sound reproduction. The 580's would be louder, but honestly every speaker I have will already get too loud to listen to if I just turn the volume up. If you have some data to back up that the 580's are better, I'd love to see it.
I found this on Audioholics:
"All of the THX stuff from Arendal and XTZ are also made by the same guys to make the Monolith THX stuff, Claridy Audio. They all use the same ODM for engineering. It will have a lot of similarities. Since the THX performance targets are the same, they sound should very similar."
XTZ and Arendal both sell their speakers for a much higher price and are considered superior to JBL.

Seriously considering these. I have the Monoprice THX-365T's for left and right now. Anyone know how they would compare to the JBL 580's?
I agree with raiz. Something like Polk Reserve floorstanders, KEF LS50 Metas/R3s, Monitor Audio Silver floorstanders would be a more substantial upgrade from your well-reviewed Monoprices.
