Learned our lesson on the first cedar swing set. Seal it with a good sealer as soon as it's built, then every year after and it keeps it looking great.

I paid $700 and thought that was a great deal... This is amazing.

Took several weeks to put in together in my spare time and alone but wasn't as bad as the reviews make it out to be. Used zip ties to hold parts of the spiral slide while building.

Paid $800 on a black friday 5 years ago. And that was the black friday prIce.

i saw several big bags of screws and went to look on facebook/cl and paid someone $250 to install it. if you plan to install, the tube slide is a real *****. It most likely will require 2 strong people to install the tube correctly.

Edit: that zip tie method from the post above me sounds like a great idea

I've had this slide since 2020. I sealed it immediately after install and it has been holding up great and still looks new

Bought the one at Costco first, but delayed that one and will give this one a shot. Slide value makes this pretty good deal. Already Walmart divided the delivery into two days. 2 boxes one day, 3 the next so we will see if they arrive and in decent shape.

I read the details and could not find a weight limit anywhere. I have a 14 yo, 12 yo, 2yo and another on the way in March. Big kids are 115 and 105 pounds. If I buy something I would want them to be able to swing on it at minimum. Does anyone know?

Purchased this set several years ago (2020) and I have been surprised with the longevity, even through some rough Iowa winters. I was able to assemble the majority of the kit myself, however I would highly recommend a helper for the slide. That sucker is a challenge for sure.

When I made my purchase the long slide was "lost" in the mail. Because it was considered clearance they said that I needed to return everything. Instead because it was considered "box 4" of the five boxes I opted to just have them refund me 20% of the order price. At that time, the 20% was around $160, so I went to Menards and purchased a 4 foot straight slide for around $75 and netted another $85 off the price.

It's definitely due to be resealed and one of my two kids is definitely starting to out grow the playground. She's 7.5 and has to duck around a lot more to maneuver around in the bottom and top sections.

That twist slide alone right now is probably worth $300-$400.

So I posted this swingset originally I think when it was on sale for $900 then dropped to 800 (we got price adjustment) not sure I can adjust it now, as we got it back in April. Anyway, we finally built it and I can give a proper review.....

'Tis a POS. Lol, the wood is definitely cheap, lightweight, and easily cracks. It's definitely wobbly, even when swinging my 30 pound child on the middle swing... The tower/house part twists when swinging. I somewhat regret not just going for the little more pricey one at Costco we were contemplating at the time... Although that one is the same brand, seemed sturdy on the store display.

I bought that one as well and put together last weekend. I will say, the quality is pretty nice from what I was expecting.

If you have not put together yet, it might be worth getting this one since that slide alone is worth the $100 I would think. Those things are the most pricey part when you just buy your own wood.

The wood on this set is clearly different but I am no wood expert so no idea which is better.

same question here!!

I bought a model from Costco this past summer - not the one you linked, but it basically looks like the one as part of this deal but with an extra tower and bridge:

https://www.costco.com/kidkraft-b...00347.html

I can't speak for materials differences (e.g. is the Walmart stuff "cheaper"? I don't know), but I originally paid $1500 IIRC, and I've gotten 2 subsequent price adjustments to ~ $1000, but my local clubs no longer sell it.

Very sturdy set, easy to put together but time consuming (took 3 of us about 9 hours, or a full day). I think the issues that people have with these is that they don't bother sealing them occasionally, and so they start to get mold, and eventually crack/check.

If you buy from Costco at least, they have what's basically an infinite return policy - so you could always get your $$ back if you feel like hauling it into the store.
