Good comments so far. I've been collecting and reselling Pokemon TCG for over a decade. I sell maybe 1 out of every ~400 cards. (Because that's the rare card that has the best value.) Here are some suggested tips:

I agree it is overall difficult to liquidate these cards. You can search up card values online, but that's usually what they're listed for by someone - not always what they were just sold at. I would not get into this thinking you can make a quick buck, nor would I get into this thinking you'll get rich.
When I see these collection boxes, I'm looking for how many booster packs are there, and also what is the rare card they're promoting. (The oversized card is mostly junk for me, but I give it out to kids for fun.)
I value each Pokemon TCG booster pack at about $4.00 since that's roughly what they retail for at most brick-and-mortar shops when you purchase them individually. If I can get them for under $3.50 each, that's a deal. (You're essentially playing roulette in hopes that the 1 rare card inside the booster is valuable.)
So this box for example has 10 booster packs. I take the total cost ($39.99) and divide that by 10 since there are 10 packs. That comes out to right under $4.00 a pack. That means this isn't really a deal for the booster packs. So the question just comes down to, do I value the free promo holo rare they have in this box? In this case it is a Pikachu & Zekram GX. You can look up via Google the price of the Pikachu & Zekram GX. Here is one of the price listings. [tcgplayer.com] I usually assume this is an approximation, and that I could potentially get about 50%-80% of the market value at a local comic book/trading card store that buys these.
My overall thoughts for this particular box is it isn't bad. It's not a "slick deal", but it certainly is worth getting if you don't already have the Pikachu & Zekram GX. I play Pokemon TCG too, and this Pikachu & Zekram GX is useful (and popular) for any electric deck, since it's ability allows you to add more electric energy cards to your Pokemon. I already own a few of these, so will I buy this box? Probably not. Am I tempted though because the Pikachu & Zekram GX is useful in-game? Yes.
Everyone values these subjectively, so take everything with a grain of salt. My overall message is once again, these are not really for quick profit. Good for long-term resell value or to gift to someone who is playing Pokemon TCG. (Because Pikachu & Zekram GX are useful in-game.)

False, you're essentially getting the promo for free and paying MSRP for the rest

If you want to argue that it might be higher value because it's a limited edition or similar that's fine, but saying it's a good deal for 10 packs on its face is just patently absurd

This is pretty much the standard price for 10 booster packs and overall you'd be able to find better deals elsewhere. Not a terrible price but not a solid deal either.

Found the scalper that wants to scoop all these up so others can't.. this is a great deal for 10 packs and that promo.
LOL
Is this a good item to resell? Not trying to make a profit and don't want to lose money either, just want to use $500 worth of Gamestop credits

The reseller market for pokemon has slowed down a lot recently. Plenty of products can be found on e bay for retail or even below retail and free shipping. After the shipping costs and seller fees, I don't think they make any profit.

It looks like the promo itself is worth about $6 and the jumbo $3. My son has struck out a lot lately on packs making these promo collections seemingly worth more because you will at least get one card worth something so I don't think this is terrible. It just isn't one of the best deals that I've come across.

Costco in store YMMV is 37.99 for 12 pack. Link is to one variation of the packs that are available. Multiple combinations for your preference

Don't forget this is a GameStop exclusive. So when the Pokémon printers stop I would assume this would slowly appreciate in value.

Those are ETB's. This is a special gamestop exclusive with promo cards. This is still a better deal.

How do we tell which card is valuable?

Goodness gracious!!! This box set shouldn't be more than $19.99... even at that price they'd be making a killing. Just my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

Yeah, if I wasn't such a stupid kid bringing my entire binder of pokemon cards to school one day back in 99'/00', I'd probably be sitting on a nice little wad of cash. Would have been all 1st gen cards and a good amount of holographic. I traded some cards for a japanese holo Blastoise and I haven't mustered up the strength to see what that'd go for now.

edit: Forgot to mention that some shithead kid in my class stole them out of my backpack during gym.
