Same here. Rtings actually did a head to head comparison between this Gigabyte and the C1:

I would consider this if was guaranteed to be $600. Rebates through Newegg have been a crapshoot for me. I've sent in five $15-$20 in the past year. On two of them I got the rebate, one of them responded and claimed I didn't send in the upc code, and on the other two I just never heard anything back.

I moved from a 48" curved Samsung TV to two 32" curved Philips (one 4k, one 1440p) monitors mounted together on one stand. I like the two 32" a LOT more than the single 48" as it is more natural to look left and right rather than up and down. Also, with a 48" monitor, you really want a curved display unless you are sitting really far from the monitor (like 4ft+). I find it hard to go back to a 32" or larger flat display after getting used to curved panels. Just so much easier on the eyes.

Is there a downside to replacing my TV with a monitor? Aside from smart tv apps.

Had anyone moved from 2 1440's to 1 large display like this? I have 2-24" 1440's (100hz) that are almost 8 years old now and since it's quite hard to find that in a 24" footprint now, wondering if this would be better off an upgrade.
Currently running a 3070 ti and game.
I've been running a 43" 4k TV and it's been great. I think it's easier than multiple smaller monitors.

Rebates seem to be a subtle way of companies saying they are going to try and rip you off......What other purpose do they serve?

May be outdated info by now, but I've always heard monitors are better than TV's because they are built to hold up to all day usage. So as long as you have a streaming box like a Shield you're good to go. This one even seems to have halfway decent speakers (for built-in) if you don't have a soundbar or audio system.

The other old rule of thumb is that refurb monitors are typically better than new ones, because they get fixed and have to pass more strict quality testing to make sure they don't get returned again.

Again these general rules are like 10-15 years old so no idea if they still hold true these days.

I'll never go back to dual monitors after getting an ultrawide. Would even prefer an ultrawide over a 4K unless I absolutely needed a 4K monitor for video editing.

Got a laptop with a 4K 15.6" screen, kind of regret it, thought it would be great for Photoshop but still using CS6 which doesn't scale on Windows so all the toolbars display so small you basically have to work off memory.

I'd buy a 43" 4K monitor for my home office & gaming room TV as long as it can do at least 1080p@120hrz, preferably with G-Sync for Gamestream on my Shield.

I think it will just be limited to 4:2:0, 4k, 10-bit, HDR. But has a display port that would be ideal if you are using a PC. If console the console has some settings you can update to work with this setup.
Its a bit of a rats nest. If the source can use DSC compression, you can use 4:4:4 10 bit hdr 120hz just fine. If it doesnt use compression, yes its limited to 4:2:0.

I really want an OLED monitor for gaming but I work from home and use static elements on screen for 8 hours a day. I'm worried about burn in over the next few years, if I spend this much on a monitor, I'll want it to last 5+ years.
If you really use it, burn in won't be a problem. (since graphics will be moving )

Is it too big, no? I thought the best size for 4k monitor is 32".

Used OLED... Do you like screen burn in, because this is how you get screen burn in.

Wut PPI do you want. This has the same PPI as 24" 1080p monitors, which is the same as 32" 1440p monitors.

A 42" 4k would have the same PPI as a 27" 1440p.

make sure to turn it on and see if burn-in occurred. the LG newer models are very good and burn-in shouldn't be an issue until many many hours later, if at all. Not sure how good AORUS oleds are regarding burn-in for their oleds. I recently bought LG C1 48" at Costco for $800. So far so good...about 2k hours on it. Still early to tell, but i only watch youtube music vids and youtube CNN, MSNBC, etc.

I hate to be that guy but with this monitor I feel like the line between tv and monitor is blurred. Would this be a good purchase for a PS5? I would use this to play games and sometimes watch netflix.

I dont need smart apps since I have a firestick. But is there any downside to using this as a tv and sitting 10 feet away ?
