Same here. Rtings actually did a head to head comparison between this Gigabyte and the C1:

I would consider this if was guaranteed to be $600. Rebates through Newegg have been a crapshoot for me. I've sent in five $15-$20 in the past year. On two of them I got the rebate, one of them responded and claimed I didn't send in the upc code, and on the other two I just never heard anything back.

I moved from a 48" curved Samsung TV to two 32" curved Philips (one 4k, one 1440p) monitors mounted together on one stand. I like the two 32" a LOT more than the single 48" as it is more natural to look left and right rather than up and down. Also, with a 48" monitor, you really want a curved display unless you are sitting really far from the monitor (like 4ft+). I find it hard to go back to a 32" or larger flat display after getting used to curved panels. Just so much easier on the eyes.

For those that pull the trigger, download the free Microsoft PowerToys, specifically for the FancyZones window monitoring. It allows you to set different sized bins that your windows snap to and will greatly increase the functionality of this as a computer monitor.

I got this last time with the $200 rebate from Gigabyte and received the rebate in a timely fashion. Make sure you follow all instructions exactly.

They are counting on people not sending in the rebate or doing something wrong when they submit it.

I run dual 32" curved Dell 1440's under an ultra wide 35" curved 21:9 monoprice 3440x1440. Setup takes a lot of space but I love it.
Wow, that's hard core! Just my two curved 32s take up so much space. Hard to go back to a single display no matter how large it is after getting to a side by side 32 setup, especially for coding.

Rebates seem to be a subtle way of companies saying they are going to try and rip you off......What other purpose do they serve?
It's a way to give more price sensitive customers a discount, while not charging less to people who can't be bothered with the rebate

I have a 43" 4k Hisense TV that I use as a monitor.

I bought the 49" AOC 144hz 5120x1440 (Dual 1440p) recently. I tried it as my main monitor for 3 weeks...and just didn't like it as much. Content works much better in 4k, snapping 4 1080p windows perfectly is great....

I switched back from the ultrawide and went with the cheap hisense 4k even though it didn't have 120hz. I just like the experience more. This ASUS would be perfect, so I'm probably going to bite.
Gigabyte is the manufacturer of this monitor, not ASUS.

I have my 48" C1 on the big ergotron desk mount (meant for like the Odyssey monitors) and it works great. I wanted flexibility to use as a monitor but also swing toward the easy chair for couch gaming (home office setup in mancave). I know there are wall mounts that certainly hold the weight, which should also provide some level of flexibility. I picked up the ergotron as open box on ebay for much cheaper than retail.

I did see that one but for a brand new one the price is nearly as much as the monitor lol, I was hoping maybe there might be better alternatives.

Ya this was the first time I personally purchased a quality mount and was surprised at the cost. I setup an ebay alert and got one for under $200. After researching I was certain this was the direction I wanted to go, so bit the bullet. I want to say some wall mounts I looked at were cheaper but I wasn't sure on the flexibility for my setup (standard monitor placement + setting out wide enough for couch viewing). Best of luck!
