Same here. Rtings actually did a head to head comparison between this Gigabyte and the C1:

I would consider this if was guaranteed to be $600. Rebates through Newegg have been a crapshoot for me. I've sent in five $15-$20 in the past year. On two of them I got the rebate, one of them responded and claimed I didn't send in the upc code, and on the other two I just never heard anything back.

I moved from a 48" curved Samsung TV to two 32" curved Philips (one 4k, one 1440p) monitors mounted together on one stand. I like the two 32" a LOT more than the single 48" as it is more natural to look left and right rather than up and down. Also, with a 48" monitor, you really want a curved display unless you are sitting really far from the monitor (like 4ft+). I find it hard to go back to a 32" or larger flat display after getting used to curved panels. Just so much easier on the eyes.

How are reading text and numbers on this? Anyone can comment? This deal sounds too good for OLED monitor at this size. But it looks like a TV… my experience using TV as computer display has not produce good clear readable text. Video and other things are fine. I do a lot of email, excel, writing and reading for work. So far I find my eyes like 5K monitors with 1440p settings at HiDPI the best (clearest and most comfortable to read text).

Ya this was the first time I personally purchased a quality mount and was surprised at the cost. I setup an ebay alert and got one for under $200. After researching I was certain this was the direction I wanted to go, so bit the bullet. I want to say some wall mounts I looked at were cheaper but I wasn't sure on the flexibility for my setup (standard monitor placement + setting out wide enough for couch viewing). Best of luck!
Thanks man! Maybe that is the route I will have to take lol

from what I have read apparently its not the best for every day actual computer use. Fonts and lines are a bit blurry, which realistically should be expected from 48, most say that for every day computer usage go with the 43

This is not a good choice for text based work.

It's meant to be used primarily for gaming and media consumption. It's not a good monitor as a daily driver for productivity tasks. As a second monitor for gaming/media it's fantastic.

I agree with some of the comments about the text readability. Black text on white background is ok, it's just not the best (but I've also seen worse too)

Dark mode applications with light text on dark backgrounds seem to work a bit better.

When I got mine the smaller one wasn't yet available, and still hasn't reached a great price point. I normally just use my laptop so when I do use the 48" it's a welcome change. 🙂

bruh

a 43in or 48in flat 4k is much better for splitting up 4 windows and having a nice dashboard for static apps like google calendar, teams, email, xfinity tv-web etc

32in can't stand this LMAO

Spent years with a 48" curved 4K before switching to dual curved 32s. Prefer the dual 32s over a single 48. It's a personal preference though, so no point in arguing over it.

I recently got a 42" C2 and I'm loving it so far but should I get this 48" for half the cost? Thb it is too big for my current setup at this time but the price is crazy.

I'm planning to use this exclusively for gaming on consoles and PC. I do like having a DP though just so I could run multiple monitors (3 at least via HDMI to HDMI, USB-C to DP, and USB-C to USB-C) with VRR. This having USB-C is awesome too. At $600 that's cheaper then even some 32" 4K IPS monitors that I was looking at.

Just wanted to chime in about this monitor, I got mine today, and am testing it out. I see what people are talking about with the fonts and stuff, but honestly its so minimal I cant believe anyone is complaining about it. It honestly looks great, I also wonder if some people aren't using the DPI cable, and are using HDMI instead, which will likely diminish quality. All the fonts that I have looked at look great. Only thing is that this monitor is HUGE, so for that reason it may not be the best for a daily driver. Im just using it for an extra monitor so no issue there for me.
