Same here. Rtings actually did a head to head comparison between this Gigabyte and the C1:

I would consider this if was guaranteed to be $600. Rebates through Newegg have been a crapshoot for me. I've sent in five $15-$20 in the past year. On two of them I got the rebate, one of them responded and claimed I didn't send in the upc code, and on the other two I just never heard anything back.

I moved from a 48" curved Samsung TV to two 32" curved Philips (one 4k, one 1440p) monitors mounted together on one stand. I like the two 32" a LOT more than the single 48" as it is more natural to look left and right rather than up and down. Also, with a 48" monitor, you really want a curved display unless you are sitting really far from the monitor (like 4ft+). I find it hard to go back to a 32" or larger flat display after getting used to curved panels. Just so much easier on the eyes.

Just wanted to chime in about this monitor, I got mine today, and am testing it out. I see what people are talking about with the fonts and stuff, but honestly its so minimal I cant believe anyone is complaining about it. It honestly looks great, I also wonder if some people aren't using the DPI cable, and are using HDMI instead, which will likely diminish quality. All the fonts that I have looked at look great. Only thing is that this monitor is HUGE, so for that reason it may not be the best for a daily driver. Im just using it for an extra monitor so no issue there for me.
Have you try composing email or use word processing on it? Like at 10pts through 12pts font sizes. Is it comfortable to read or the text slightly blurry?

To be completely honest, when using Word and Outlook, everything looks extremely crisp, its really only in Chrome when looking at emails or reading a lot of text that I notice any blurring, and its so minute its really only noticeable if you are really looking for it. I am wondering if the issue that people are having is that they don't have proper hardware and/or settings for the monitor, and thats why they are getting issues. I have a 3080 and have it hooked up with a DPI cable, resolution set to 3840x2160. Even when I zoom in on stuff, it looks really crisp. You can see pixels or pixelation, but for a 48 inch monitor I would think that's to be expected. Its most notable when zoomed in though and you get close to the screen.

I honestly just think that the people complaining about the quality of this monitor don't have proper hardware or settings to operate it. Or do not realize that it could be browser settings.

The size is what is holding me off on buying this, really want 42" or smaller for the size and PPI.

No, that 's fine and is good enough for me.

My worry is in the past when I used a plat panel LCD TV as a monitor, text (in word processors, excels, productivity apps, etc), looks really rough and bad, compare to just using a computer display. Like night and day difference, not talking about small variations. Same 1080 TV vs 1080p computer monitor. And it would be fine watching videos (movies, tv, video games), but suck to use as a productivity monitor you have to work on for 8+ hours a day.

Was worried that this was a "TV" marketed as a computer monitor and not a true monitor.

I bought a 40" Dell 4K computer monitor, and it worked fine, but it costs me over a grand. This being under a grand made be very skeptical that it was a "TV", especially compared to my dell purchase.

My eyes has gone to hell in the last year. What was comfortable on a 4K 27" triple monitor are not longer comfortable. (I may need bi-focals soon!), I had to double the font sizes of my desktop and apps to comfortable, so I'm starting to look at larger monitors, 32"+ monitors due to these life-changes. But this is a bit "too good" to be believe, needed to make extra sure.

This is a true monitor, but it is a monitor that is heavily focused on content consumption while sacrificing on productivity and content creation. The pixel layout is not standard, and Windows has a difficult time rendering text clearly, even with ClearType enabled. Text will never be as crisp as a monitor with a standard RGB pixel layout.

IIRC, this monitor struggles greatly in brightly lit areas due to the natural dimness of OLED and its glossy finish.

I would agree that it's not a big deal for me, but it is a problem for some. This monitor has a triangular pixel layout, which Windows was not designed to handle, especially given text. For most things, this doesn't matter. However, when viewing thin lines with high contrast (text), this problem rendering results in a soft fuzz, because the pixel that would normally mark the edge of a letter is not where Windows thinks it is.

No hardware will fix this. It is a problem that you will have to live with given the pixel layout. Use the ClearType utility to help.

How are reading text and numbers on this? Anyone can comment? This deal sounds too good for OLED monitor at this size. But it looks like a TV… my experience using TV as computer display has not produce good clear readable text. Video and other things are fine. I do a lot of email, excel, writing and reading for work. So far I find my eyes like 5K monitors with 1440p settings at HiDPI the best (clearest and most comfortable to read text).
This may not be the monitor for you, given the blur. This monitor is primarily aimed at content consumption, with other uses far behind.

Deal says out of stock, is it over? Too bad, I wanted to try it out. I need a display port 48", LG C1 with HDMI isn't going to cut it for me unfortunately.

I want to buy 3 of them for sim racing, the lack of display port in LG C1 makes it tough. I bought 3 refurb LG C1s for $900 each, good deal, but when trying to connect all 3 to a single GPU it's tough to get GSYNC, HDR and 120 HZ out of a single GPU 3 times without 3 HDMI 2.1 ports. This monitor would solve the issue since it has a display port and HDMI 2.1 port.

This, it looks really good IMO, but I like Oat said, it may be a dealbreaker for some.
