Very first item that comes up: Amazon 32oz honey. $11. Per 3camels, just recently increased price from $7. but we get 20% off! yay!
Second item that comes up: Amazon binder clips: $14.49. per 3 camels, just recently increased from under $10. but we get 20% off! yay!

I'm not going to look up the rest of them, I've seen what I need to know about Amazon's so-called "sale"

The Wirecutter used to recommend Amazon Basics for rechargeable batteries, but in their most recent update (link [nytimes.com]) Wirecutter no longer recommends them.

Was able to stack with 20% off S&S on Mama Bear diapers and then the 20% off $50 with subscription of 2 packs.

Great deal on omeprazole (only like $10) a package, which is already deeply discounted. Bought five of them for around $40, which includes the 20% off discount.

Are the Amazon basics rechargeable batteries any good?
For what it's worth I've found Amazon basic products to be really good. I still have some things going strong from 5+ years ago like a shredder and some other items.

It's much better than other "in house" brands like target and walmart. I would compare it to Kirkland signature in terms of quality

Initially I thought it sucked. Then I bought the energizer rechargeable battery. Energizer rechargeable AA is seems to have far shorter life span than the Amazon. I am using in a bug zapper.
If your Energizers are "made in Japan" they are Eneloops.

When the products are generally aimed to be priced under the competition, an extra 20% off is a pretty good deal. Usually the idea is to move as much product at the highest prices if you intend to get rid of that product. I'd suspect more stuff like this with amazon basics will start popping up.
Why would they limit it to $50 if they want to get rid of everything? 20% still isn't much of a fire sale to begin with.

Get out of here with this wild, baseless conjecture BS. Comments like yours just stir up rumors and waste people's time.

Not as good as eneloop in my experience.
The AmazonBasics rechargeable batteries used to come from the same factory as Eneloops. I think the way to check was that they were made in Japan. I'm pretty sure they stopped doing that to cut costs though.

I guess this is amazon starting to dump some of its basics line to avoid lawsuits and regulators lol?

I ordered a couple of S&S items but it didn't register on the $50 progress bar at the top of the main page.

Amazon allegedly used its search/purchase data to create amazon basic products to compete with popular items and manipulated the search results to favor their amazon basic products.

Same here. Looks like it is in the terms of the promotion, towards the bottom "does not apply to subscribe and save items"

I doubt it's anything sinister. A product I use was recently re-branded from Solimo to Amazon Basics (the creativity and marketing appeal of amazon's in-house branding is atrocious IMO) and this could just be a way to promote the rebranding. Or just routine inventory clearance.

I've bought several Amazon "store brand" foods and other than their Nespresso capsules I found them all horrible to meh in taste. Especially their nuts, stale and low quality.
