I bet you were waiting just to flex. Funny how Intense is not selling threw Costco anymore. I'm betting the return rate was unacceptable.
Those bikes dropped from the Costco site several times whenever they sold out. Doesn't necessarily mean they are no longer selling through Costco.

Hm, which one is better for 6.0 - L or XL? Both show 6.0 as boundary)
XL the L runs small based on the review I read.

I literally bought this 4 hours before it was discounted to $228 yesterday. Called Walmart to price adjust, they would only refund 25% bringing it down to $337. Local Walmart showed it in stock, so I went there (just now) and turns out they didnt have any on the floor. So I ordered one online for in store pick up. Then it shows as unavailble and they have to ship it.

So now, I'm getting the original one tomorrow and will be sending the other one back when it arrives so that I can get it for $228. Ridiculous - no wonder Amazon dominates Walmart.

Great points. Will be keeping tabs on what people are saying are good bikes/brands to get.

Oof. She's 5' 9". I think it'll be best to watch for smaller sized bikes. Thanks for pointing that out.

You may still want to give it a try if your willing / it is easy for you to return it. For $400 it is a good bike, for $230, I already got another one. (I returned the one I get for $400 when I found a nice used bike 2 days later)

I've had to do this before on a air compressor. We ain't made of money!

I've had to return a boxed bike to Walmart before. They sent a semi to my street to pick it up freight. It was a little silly.

isnt this a beginners bike?

Not a "beginner" bike...more like a cheap bike for urban riding only...maybe som light level dirt trails. It will break sooner than later vs mountain bikes at local shops! These big box bikes are bottom of the barrel with the cheapasses components! Save som more $$ and get a bike designed by a proven bike company liek Trek, Marin, Giant, etc.

Nah, axums are big bikes. I'm 6ft 1ish , 32 inseam, and this bike rides fine.
Rode with the kids today, I agree. I'm 6ft pushing 6'1" 32" pant, took a measure, 34" from foot to top crouch. Fit seems really good, had to bump the seat up a few inches. Any bigger frame and I'm afraid the top tube would be too close for comfort. At $230, if something goes south saved a bunch of $$ and can get a upgrade component.

I'm actually impressed with the assembly, out of the box it shifts up/down, and everything was tight. The front brake had a touch of drag, was able to center it pretty quick. For what I'm going to do, light dirt roads and a few deer trails I'm a happy camper. Granted the bike I'm coming from is a 20 year old Trek 810 that's way too small and somehow heavier than this "box store" bike. I usually don't care, but the color is pretty killer too, black with gold and gold chain, nice bike

I feel like most bike enthusiasts assume the people asking these questions are gonna immediately go off roading on rugged trails. I've bought cheap bikes including cheap no name brands and Schwinn's, which for all intents and purposes are not for true off road enthusiasts. I've never had one break, nor have I ever done maintainance with the exception of consumables such as treads and brakes pads.

The primary reason one would break, aside from getting a dud where something was broken in shipping, would be things like getting mud in the bearings. This is something your average Joe-shmo rider like me will never encounter because I don't ride through mud. I converted my previous shwinn to a 1000w ebike. 1000 miles later, still runs great. Just bought this one for bike path and road rides where I don't want to use the ebike.

To me it's akin to saying get a Maserati, your Hyundai will break if you take corners at 60mph.

I am between 5'9'' and 5'10 inches. So is this borderline as to height. I have an old bike I love and as a youngster could jump on and off of it. But since I did not grow any more and I am older and my feet do not hit the ground when standing, it is not safe. So now looking for a safer bike - e.g. my fit can touch the ground.
