I realize this is not the same level of the original post but good deal for a bike.

Amex Everyday Bluecash supposedly 3% for online orders, YMMV if this counts for pickup...
In for one. I bought a bike for $20 that needed work yesterday....so that's backburner now LOL.

It's got me feeling a little down right now, honestly. I'm not sorry I got it, but I was surprised how that dampened my mood in a hot second.
I was honestly kind of taken aback.
The comments here, on Reddit, and on the YouTube reviews I read all seemed to indicate that this is a very good price for a bike like this. Was it just sour grapes from the bike shop guy for not buying the $500 entry-level bike from his shop?

Some say the M stands for "Mens" and not Medium, but I am confused...I kinda know my MTBs and I had researched the bike a bit before: it came in two sizes indeed, Medium and Large. Online they only have the Large on sale, for both colors, and ofc I've ordered a Large.
The Medium has an "effective top tube" (center of fork stem to center of seat tube) of 620mm and the Large was 645mm.
The M I got, "men's or not", is 620mm...
I cannot get anyone on the phone and no store has it...it is online only...I want the L dammit!
Did anyone got theirs and it is an L / 465mm effective top tube?
PS: if anyone in Orange County/SoCal got a large and actually needs a M, exchange? PM me
As long as they fix what I broke and it's cheap it'll be fine. I might ask when I pick it up, or I might just drop the subject, what he thinks shouldn't really matter so much to me.

There are bike snobs. But real cyclists always talk about the components of the bike that are most important. Prices will come back down to earth.
This OP is a nice Huffy bike, but it's still equal to a Huffy bike. If you really want to feel deflated, don't lock it up and see if anybody steals it. If they don't want it, there is your answer.

I got one just to ride single speed or lend to friends.

No, seat tubes are all "virtual" sizes with modern MTBs, as the actual top tube tapers down to roughly just above the seat post clamp... M and L are very close there. The difference is in effective top tube, Reach and Stack measurements.
This is a tabulated comparison:
https://geometrygeeks.b
KevCentral also had a video comparing the two, again, the main difference is in the effective top tube and Reach (Reach is the horizontal distance between BB and head-tube, it is kinda tricky to measure accurately without a jig). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWZZFMc
Unfortunately (?) the barcode on the bike corresponds to the "Large" Axum I've ordered...so they've stopped having two of them? They only have one and is the 420mm top tube? UUUgghhhh.

Is the M rideable? Sure.
But I actually know the L would be a better fit because I have bikes with similar geo #s already.
