Wifi 6 is a wireless standard. It has nothing to do with your internet provider. The modem/router that is provided by Xfinity most likely is a WiFi 6 router. But then again, I don't have Xfinity so I can't say for sure.

I have this model and suggest a cooling pad since it tend to get hot. Other than that it runs fine.

What do you mean by bridge them? You can make one a router and the other one as access point. Or you can make both access point and plug into an existing network. I have the AX1500 as access point in bridge mode.

thank you. In which bridge mode can wireless devices switch between two routers seamlessly?

If it has that option, then yes.

Just looked at the user manual. The only two modes this router supports are Router and Access Point modes. I picked up a couple of Netgear WAX206s as those support Router/AP/Bridge modes. I'll set up one in AP, and the other in Bridge mode as a replacement for an ethernet cable to connect my desktop to my router. The AP will be hardwired to the router (in my case an old Wifi 5 Orbi), and the Bridge will be hardwired to my desktop. could have upgraded my Orbi to a Wifi 6 model, but the two WAX206s cost me about $140, which is substantially less than upgrading a 1xRouter 3xSatellite Orbi system. All I want is to get as close to maximizing my gigabit fiber internet on my desktop as possible without running an ethernet cable to it. We'll see if this solution works out.

Thanks. It's not the most elegant solution, but running an ethernet cable to my desktop (in a makeshift office in the dining room) from my living room (where the router is) would have been way worse.

Unfortunately, No! TP link allows mesh only with their extenders as far as I know. That's possible only with Asus routers.

This might be a stupid question but how much range improvement will this provide over TPLink AC1700 which has been working great as long as I am getting a good signal but I don't get it at the opposite side of my house (approx. 70 ft away including a brick wall).

Probably negligible... You need to get a wired AP on the other side
