This is a good price for a "meh" but fully serviceable bike - not mountain bike. Surely capable to ride around in city trails, commute etc while focusing at the lowest possible price, just don't try to follow your seasoned MTB friends on single track with this...think of it as "gravel" bike at best.

This is also not a $400 MSRP bike by any stretch of imagination, this is a $120-150 bike, or at least it was pre-pandemic.

Good value for riding around the neighborhood or gifting to a wife or a kid that won't try crazy shit on it.

I've seen this bike. There's a few of them in the endcap bike display. It seemed an odd looking bike at first, that's why I stopped and looked at it. Then I started comparing it with the 26" Schwinn next to it and figured out this 27.5" bike is a 26" bike with a extended seat. Looks kind of dorky IMO, like a low rider bike with long seat pipe.. You might want to look at it first before purchase. The $90-something Roadmaster looked better to me. Just my 2 cents.

U can move the stock seat forward or backward maybe an inch from its current position. I agree tilt would be nice. That's why I was surprised by that suspension seat post on either the specialized or diamondback bike I got the other day where it was at a fixed angle too.
You can adjust the angle on that one too by loosening the bolt enough so that you can lift the bottom portion of the clamp a little bit to clear the ridges on the top of the post part (the ridges are there, just not as visible as on the other one) and set it down in another position before tightening the bolt.

I bought this one [amazon.com] and it fits fine.
This kickstand says it fits only up to 27" wheels. This bike has 27.5" wheels.

You're right! Thx!

I'm cleaning up these suspension posts from a couple used "comfort" bikes (specialized and diamondback) I got at the thrift store so I can sell them to pay for solid posts. Not a fan of the bouncy seats! Lol.

FWIW I got this one for $10 for my XL Frame. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B073Z5QHCP I liked the extra support this offered by the upper support brace.. just my 2 cents anyway.. hopefully, it will hold up...buuuut who really knows... only 136 reviews from this seller but also looks similar to the more expensive ones from other sellers with pretty decent reviews. The retract seemed strong and secure to me. and the adjustable foot helped with the angle of the bike while down. Also not sure how long the click-to-adjust feature will last compared to the SET screw type adjustable foot. $10 oh well call me cheap.. I'll answerPeace

If it helps any, a 27" rim has a 630mm diameter and a 27.5" rim has a 584mm diameter.

However the 27" tire is usually a small relatively skinny road tire and the 27.5" is usually a more voluminous knobby mountain bike tire.

So the kickstand will probably work, but no guarantee. A bike shop will often just stock an extra long kickstand and chop it down to fit the bike.

I got this bike when the deal started, the angle of the seat is fixed (welded) but the seat has standard mounting. The seat that comes with the bike is extremely uncomfortable, and I have since replaced it with a "wider" seat for my average-sized buttocks, $20 on Amazon. I also got a kickstand for $11 at Amazon.

Had a bit of trouble adjusting the calipers, on both rear and front, the pads where not centered and very unbalanced (one side had 4mm separation and the other 1mm), anyways it took me like 1 hour to get everything properly adjusted.

Other than the "upgrades" and time you have to dedicate to get everything properly adjusted, it's a decent bike for $100 before upgrades. I think I like that this is actually decent for being that price. Absolutely not worth it at the original price, the components are extremely cheap, on their own (break system, gear changer, etc), the expensive part is the frame itself. So like someone else commented, this is a serviceable, upgradeable, decent bike for $100.

Suspension is decent! I had to break very suddenly and I felt the suspension absorbing the energy instead of catapulting me face first, that was awesome 👍...

If you want a better bike, you have to, simply put; spent more money... but I like that I'm getting my money worth for the $100 I wanted to spend at having a basic bike. I didn't need a bike, but I was willing to throw $100 at it, it was worth it (to me)

If you have any questions let me know.

This is by far the best $98 bike for the money.

Within the last month, I have bought two Huffy Rock Creek at $98 each and a Schwinn Sidewinder at $168. All three have issues with the front derailler, so I converted the front drive train to 1x. The mechanical disc brakes on the Schwinn are not the best, as the calipers only clamp from one side, ending up twisting the disc every time.

This Decathlon ST100 at $98 came in a well packaged box to prevent damages. It took 30 minutes to assemble. Everything worked. Additional point for the finish: the matt red paint scheme makes the bike seem modern while not being too loud.

I'll still keep all four bikes for the family to ride around town for exercise.

Anyone looking for a kickstand for this bike, you can get this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...3N8P&psc=1

I build bikes and I know this type of kickstand is good for this bike, as this bike has flat chainstays for better clamping and you need the top extension to support its mass weight.

It doesn't work for this bike, the shifting cable near the bottom bracket areas is interferencing any installation like this.

6'2" I can stand flat-footed without the bar hitting me where I don't want it to. BUT there's no room for error... so a large frame would maybe have given an inch more margin for error? You can see in the photo in the earlier post the seat stem is not extended much. So IDK whether the Large frame would have been better. I enjoy the bike and ride. No problems pedaling.. leg extensions and mechanics seem fine to me FWIW. Hope this helped.

Thanks! The L size looks more slant compared to XL. The frame looks more proportionate in XL. I will give that a try.
