This is a good price for a "meh" but fully serviceable bike - not mountain bike. Surely capable to ride around in city trails, commute etc while focusing at the lowest possible price, just don't try to follow your seasoned MTB friends on single track with this...think of it as "gravel" bike at best.

This is also not a $400 MSRP bike by any stretch of imagination, this is a $120-150 bike, or at least it was pre-pandemic.

Good value for riding around the neighborhood or gifting to a wife or a kid that won't try crazy shit on it.

I've seen this bike. There's a few of them in the endcap bike display. It seemed an odd looking bike at first, that's why I stopped and looked at it. Then I started comparing it with the 26" Schwinn next to it and figured out this 27.5" bike is a 26" bike with a extended seat. Looks kind of dorky IMO, like a low rider bike with long seat pipe.. You might want to look at it first before purchase. The $90-something Roadmaster looked better to me. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks! The L size looks more slant compared to XL. The frame looks more proportionate in XL. I will give that a try.
I don't think the design change with the size. It's just a bigger version of the same proportion.

I got this bike when the deal started, the angle of the seat is fixed (welded) but the seat has standard mounting. The seat that comes with the bike is extremely uncomfortable, and I have since replaced it with a "wider" seat for my average-sized buttocks, $20 on Amazon. I also got a kickstand for $11 at Amazon.

Had a bit of trouble adjusting the calipers, on both rear and front, the pads where not centered and very unbalanced (one side had 4mm separation and the other 1mm), anyways it took me like 1 hour to get everything properly adjusted.

Other than the "upgrades" and time you have to dedicate to get everything properly adjusted, it's a decent bike for $100 before upgrades. I think I like that this is actually decent for being that price. Absolutely not worth it at the original price, the components are extremely cheap, on their own (break system, gear changer, etc), the expensive part is the frame itself. So like someone else commented, this is a serviceable, upgradeable, decent bike for $100.

Suspension is decent! I had to break very suddenly and I felt the suspension absorbing the energy instead of catapulting me face first, that was awesome 👍...

If you want a better bike, you have to, simply put; spent more money... but I like that I'm getting my money worth for the $100 I wanted to spend at having a basic bike. I didn't need a bike, but I was willing to throw $100 at it, it was worth it (to me)

If you have any questions let me know.
Could you share the link for seat?

I bought this one for another bike that had a similarly narrow and hard stock seat and I have no complaints...

It doesn't work for this bike, the shifting cable near the bottom bracket areas is interferencing any installation like this.
They have kickstands that mount to the thin lower frame that goes to the rear wheel.

Handle bars are slightly off center. Tired to loosen bolts to be able to adjust, but really stuck in there. Any tips or do I need to get a bit for an impact driver?

edit: I managed to create a longer lever arm with a metal bar I had. Nevermind.

If I want to install a stem riser for more upright position, does this bike have enough cable length?

Received this Decathlon ST100 in small, delivered by some freight company Pilot. The box was intact and stapled down, Took a quick look and it looks intact with all the small parts (front skewer, pedals, derailleur cage) taped to the seat. The seat indeed has a hex bolt underneath the clamp to allow for the rails to be adjusted fore and aft position but not tilt, confirming what JimB posted previously. The post is welded to the clamp and the saddle appears removable from the clamp. This is also the first Walmart/dept store bike I've seen where they actually greased the seat post from the factory. It would make sense as the aluminum frame and steel post could fuse together if not greased. I own and ride Marin and Specialized, aluminum and cro-mo steel frames and wrench my own. Hope to get this $100 bike rideable for my teenage boy to enjoy and get a few seasons out of it before he outgrows the frame. His current 24" WM special steel mtb is getting a bit small.

Barely. I used a stem riser and was able move about 1.5" higher on the handlebars. The front brake cable is stretched to its limit. Will have to replace the brake cables (they seem to be the shortest) if I want to get any more height. It's better, but still could use a inch or two more.

Finished putting together my medium st100. It's nice, and no issues, but I'm returning it. Between the time I ordered it and it arriving, I found a couple old nice bikes (diamondback and specialized) at a thrift store. They just need a little work to get on the road again. And they're quite a bit lighter than this bike. Anyway, if anyone in west central Georgia wants it for what I paid, I'll have it sitting in my garage for a week or so before I return it.

Is it normal for this bike to pedal too easily on first gear? It feels like no resistance at all.

I have attached the L vs XL images. What i meant was that the L seems too slant compared to XL.

The one with cardboard bg is L and one with white bg is XL

Assembled the bike easily and adjusted the brakes and realigned the pads. Needed to let out the brake cables as both were tight out of the box. The bell clamp snapped when I tried to remove it from the handlebar. Gears shifted well out of the box and the saddle is serviceable. I've been riding my cross/fitness bike daily so I'm accustomed to firm saddles. Took it to the streets and paved trail for a quick ride and hit a few hills. The bike is a bit heavier than my daily and I don't like riding grip shifters but overall it's a great price for this bike and definitely an upgrade for my teenager's current steel 24-incher.

My brakes seemed really tight too but it was actually just the plastic end piece on the brake cable tubing that had pulled out of the brake lever housing and was hung up on the edge of the hole it inserts into. Once I shifted it over and it fell into the hole, brakes were fine.
