I'm getting it, it's free, but does Gloomhaven have a decent tutorial? I want to play it with my wife, but I've heard it's ridiculously complicated.

Lol 60gb. More like 400gb once you have all DLC which is needed if you want to ever compete with any tribe in the game. Also, could be more storage if you want to play with mods

Learning via digital edition is definitely better than just reading the Gloomhaven manual. It does have a tutorial but expect to still come out of it with some questions. Understand that it is a challenging game so be ready to lose the first encounter a few times as you are getting used to the game's systems. Once you get past the initial learning curve it is an incredibly fun game so stick with it! (And don't be embarrassed to turn the difficulty down while you are learning.)

Online board games are great for games like this. I play Terraforming Mars on PC and tablet. And I have a BGA, board game arena, account. There are lots of great games that i play that i prefer digitally to avoid the setup and admin of. They added Barrage recently which is a great example of excelling when played on BGA.

You can. But a few things to consider.

1. Steam deck is portable. You throw in a extreral hard drive its no longer really portable

2. Even if you plug it in, it needs to be in ex4 format (linux) for it to work

3. It'll drain the battery faster as the battery needs to power the external hard drive

In essence if it can't fit on the deck, it's not a good idea.

You can however try to do a NAS setup. But that in itself can be very very expensive and limited to only be used while you're home.

The game has a built in tutorial. I also think the jaws of the lion expansion plays a little like a tutorial into the game as well
